I think it’s pretty clear that when Colt said Netero would be killed by a royal guard before he could reach Meruem he was mostly talking about aura output, since that’s what Netero was displaying. In terms of aura output, I think it’s fair to say that Netero is weaker than the royal guards, but he makes up for it in training, techniques and experience. I doubt any of the royal guards could beat him one on one, though if they ganged up and strategised coordinates attacks he probably wouldn’t fare well.

Ya gotta respect Netero's conviction. He knew he was most likely going to die facing Meruem but went anyway because he didn't want to fade away peacefully in his sleep. He wanted to literally go out in a blaze of glory. Even though it came at the cost of his life, like a true hunter worth his salt he ensured that his prey was vanquished.

I like how by Netero wearing that T Shirt, something that he holds deep into his heart, with his career and position also being molded straight from the will of his heart, has now shaped into the philosophy of his final battle. It shows the power of manifesting. He made his dream to face an unbeatable adversary, giving his heart and soul into a reality, and in the midst he managed to go beyond so much as to teach that youthful adversary a lesson. You guys are forgetting that Meruem was restricting himself on purpose and wasn't going all out against Netero. Why? Because he wanted to know his name, so he didn't go all out just so incapacitating him would be enough, nor would he have to kill him. Of course, the fight would've have ended with the same result regardless since Netero knew it was a suicide mission.
