In the 80’s, my dad would frequent a mom and pop VHS store that did everything by paper, didn’t have any electronics to document the tapes that were rented or anything. He managed to convince the owners to install computers, and whenever there was an issue with them, they’d call him to fix it.

I always thought my grandpa was just a farmer in his home country before he moved to the US. I would always hear about how he sacrificed so much to be able to move here with his family. He died recently and it wasn’t until then that I found out he wasn’t just an ordinary farmer. But was a farmer that owned a lot of land and helped develop the local economy with the majority of his home town working for him (about 2, 000 people) and ended up selling the land to multiple people and kept 5 acres that included his house that he built up completely by himself

Although this person isn’t a family member, i still think he’s worth mentioning as he was very close to me, that being my band teacher. It happened one morning during band practice when out of nowhere, he straight up told the whole class about a friend of his who served in the navy, and survived being torn in half after getting directly hit from ship artillery. Even though he got torn in half from the waist down, his crew mates still managed to stick him back together, as most of his major organs were still intact. I was straight up appalled when he told us this.
