First of all, I know this is not Ana’s story but I wanted to give some advice. Tell your bf. First of all, this entire situation is pretty toxic. The overprotectivness of the bf, the cheating on both your mother in law and your bf, the fact that the mother in law didn’t even know. But, if I were you, I would just remove myself from the situation. End it with the bf and the dad. You will still have to see your bf and you mother in law if you stay with the dad and you both ditch each other’s partner. You will just have these feelings and continue to cheat if things stay the way they are. End it with both. That way, you won’t wreck a home and break two hearts. The dad should understand your reasoning when you break up with him. I honestly feel really bad for your bf.

3 things she should do.
1. Tell the boyfriend cause he seems like a decent person and that’s obviously cheating. A relationship with secrets and lies, shit cheating alone ruins a relationship so leave this relationship cause the boyfriend does not deserve that.
2. Tell the wife cause she as well does not deserve cheating and she deserves to know when someone is cheating on her.
3. Leave the dad and the boyfriend and evaluate yourself. If you get with the dad, you lose him the way you got him. If he can cheat on his wife he can cheat on you.
Moral of the story just have some fucking human decency!!!

When in a relationship, there's no guarantee that you won't fall for another. But before you do anything intimate with them, be honest with your current partner first so that way you won't be playing with anyone's heart.

The ethical thing for this person to do would be break up with the boyfriend and move on, if they're not interested in working things out with the boyfriend. They're going to hurt their boyfriend worse the longer they drive their heels or if they try to pursue a relationship with her boyfriend's dad, than just to break up now.

They could explain that they've developed feelings for someone else, but at this point I don't think they need a specifically say that it's their boyfriend's dad. Just end the relationship and then go no contact with that whole family.

I personally wouldn't even go near the dad or explain, even if I did have feelings for this person. At the end of the day, I would still recognize that this is a very toxic situation, and a dumpster fire in the making. Just run far away, and maybe talk to a therapist or someone you trust if you need to. That would be my advice.
