Rise of the Franks - Conquest of Gaul DOCUMENTARY

The fall of the Western Roman Empire and the subsequent rise of the Merovingian Franks under Clovis is easily misunderstood. This documentary begins with the Ripuarian Franks feuding amongst themselves with their petty chieftains before Clovis came to power. Clovis eventually conquered their brethren, the Salian Franks. He continued on and rapidly expanded all throughout Gaul, laying the groundwork for France and Germany.
