He mentions cooperative enterprise - there is nothing stopping him and a legion of other workers chipping in to launch one and incur joint risk. Its literally allowed.

Ben didn’t even get to the cost of the electricity, gas, salaries and the shared cost of employee’s insurance and benefits packages. Economic classes please ! Quit pampering them and teaching how they can identify as whatever they want and get back to teaching reading, writing, arithmetic, history ( good and bad ) . Oh, did I mention ECONOMICS ?? Gee wiz

I was in a union. At one meeting, a couple of members started ragging on the owner about making money on the backs of the workers. The owner had come to the town and purchased the failed business, put money into getting the yard back in shape, hiring the workers back, going out and getting contracts to keep them working and paying them the agreed-upon, reasonable wage.

I looked at them and said, "OK, all we need to do is pool our money to get the million or so to buy the yard, like the owner did. Next, we'll need to buy stock and materials for the store. Then, we just need to get the money to keep everyone working while we hire someone who can find contracts and customers and that work comes in and is completed. Lastly, we'll have to each have enough money to survive on until the company starts making enough to pay the bills and to start paying us a salary; shouldn't be much more than 2 years. After that, in another 3 years or so, we should start seeing all that money you think he is making, which after expenses is probably going to be 40% of what you think it will be."

Crickets from them.
