I'm an Uber Driver and I rented a Nissan Altima. 2 of them. Both died on me. One the transmission and the second one the AC didn't work properly. I don't recommend Altima or Sentras..

I bought a 2017 Dodge Journey Crossroads V-6 dealer rental from our local Chrysler/Dodge dealer for my son to drive to school. The car had 69, 000 miles on the odometer when I bought the car last year. We have not had one problem with the Journey, and the transmission shifts smoothly. I looked up the transmission manufacturer for the Journey and it is AISIN.

My worst car on Turo is a new 2023 Tesla model Y I bought last year. One month in after I bought it, got hail damage in May, few month later it got damaged, I was hoping turo would just total it, no they paid out it was over $20k in repairs. Took couple month to repair. Later in March 2024 customer hit a deer at 60 mph. again 3 month later and similar amount in repair. I had to pay deductible out my pocket both times mind you. And right now it now does not even rent all that well. My cheap 11k 2012 Prius makes much more money then this Tesla.
At least I actually enjoy daily driving this model Y when its not rented.

I can tell you are not a car guy, avoid anything with a cvt if you can.
