car markups should be made illegal. Or better yet, change the rules and allow manufacturers to sell to the public directly. Dealers are required by law, that's the problem. Remove the greedy middleman.

Consumers can set the price on anything. If the price is to high, don't buy it, anything will come down if they are not selling. It's common freaking sense, but nowadays even that's hard to see in people, truly sad.

Considering the MSRP is already inflated no one should be paying more for anything especially cars. The only reason dealers are getting away with this practice is there are people out there willing pay anything to get what they want right now, instead of walking away and waiting for the prices to come back down to reality.

This will make you laugh. December 2020 bought a brand new 2021Chevy Spark total price with taxes $14, 100. Recently received an email from the dealership that they would buy back the car for $16, 000. Being a financially compromised old woman I laughed it off but it was very depressing that my little Spark would appreciate instead of the expected downward value.
