Alana L’s latest video on Calvinism has many many errors, many of which I think come from her initial experience with Reformed Theology at a previous church. In these next few videos I will offer several corrections and Scriptural refutations for her claims. Enjoy.

She seems to assume that every Calvinist has the same understanding of Scripture that she does, but we are all lying to ourselves about it. Using her words, that actually is naive. Christians have differences on various issues; it happens. We understand various passages differently. It's why we have denominations. While it would be great if we had unity on all matters, it really matters that we have unity on the gospel. I think Alana does believe the good news of Jesus Christ; she just has different ideas on other doctrines.

I agree with you that the comment "Let's just read the Bible" is worthless. Amen! The Bible is deep and full of mysteries and deals with the most difficult subjects known to man.

Reguarding your surprise at the "Double Agent" way that she spoke of her church, I have a few comments. John MacArthur now talks openly about how he did this throughout the formative years at his church. The 9Marks book from Mark Dever recommends being covert in introducing the 9 Marks (of which calvinism is a large part) to your church. In 2013 the SBC formed a committee (which included Tom Ascol & Al Mohler) to discuss the animosity between Calvinists and Nons, and the Truth, Trust and Testimony document that they wrote includes the deceptiveness with which Calvinist pastors were using to get into churches and teach Calvinism. Given these facts, I would challenge your assertion that Alana is too emotional about this, as it seems to be happening all over North America.

When someone leaves a congregation after many years there are likely relationship issues that the person isn't mentioning.

Reguarding your comments about determinism, I have a few comments as well. I believe someone commented on your first or second video about Alana that there are prominent Calvinists like RC Sproul and John Piper who do believe that God has determined every single molecule in the universe to do what He wants it to. You would be free to call them Hyper Calvinists, but seeing that they are the two Calvinists who spawned the Young, Restless & Reformed movement (RC through Ligonier and Piper through Passion Conference) I would assert that you are mistaken. There are a few Calvinists like Greg Koukl who have left determinism completely EXCEPT for salvation, but I haven't seen many of them. I guess what I'm saying to you is that you shouldn't be so surprised that Alana is saying these things b/c they are more widespread than you are claiming.

you railing about the bible is concerning How do we settle these arguments is CONTEXT not leaning on man Wo to him who trusts in man
yes there are some that is open to interpretation and with that we yield, but MOST is def discernable with CONTEXT
Yes there is some where newer you might not know context in a deep way like knowing Paul usually references the old testament and to look for that for greater context
but then there is the Lazuras scripture that is clearly misused and knowing so for several reasons
1 he was not lost in the 1st place
2 there is a parable meant for teaching this exact thing, its the parable of the prodigal son, only this does not support the Calvinist view
3 if you read through the whole scripture you can see Jesus speaking with Mary and there is more a lesson on the importance to Believe onto salvation

here is the thing About her, and we can have compassion, But she has been awoken by scripture that much of what she believed has not been all true, She is hurt confused and also being taken advantage of some with even false views, and she is more acting out of her hurt
She is right about a lot She is wrong about a little bit, She is def emotional but this is understandable for anyone who had their world rocked, However time will tell if she calms or not
However You are wrong about Calvinism, Calvin himself said God ordained even the evil thoughts of men, and that he even gives some false fate to take it away later to damn them all the more
The problem I think is many who think they are Calvinist are not Calvinist, and the alternative is not just the opposite either
I had been told by one that don't worry at all what is said to the lost in evangelism because it is all God, but then is speaking to a marketer to get the church out to more people
Calvinism only lives because most are inconsistent Calvinist they live with phrases like doctrine like a Calvinist but preach pray or whatever like an Armenian
it lives with duels to explain the contradictions the duels that are no where in the word like the 2 wills the 2 everything, without which there is no Calvinism
and you used the Catholicism as a case against just read the bible How in the world would anyone come up with Catholicism with honest reading of the word

it is true that we are not to go by feelings. But surely you realize that the Holy Spirit is the feeling part of God. The Bible says do not grieve the Holy Spirit, do not quench the Holy Spirit. In the Bible says it all spirit witnesses with God's spirit. Why do you think that happens if there's no feeling involved? God so loved the world that he gave. You don't think that there was feeling there?
So don't sit there and bash feelings. We just have to make sure that our feelings are in line with God's heart.
Calvinism is NOT in line with God's heart. That is all there is to it.
NO MAN MADE RELIGION IS----NONE OF THEM ARE

READ THE BIBLE
ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO GIVE YOU A DISCERNMENT AND WISDOM AS YOU READ THE BIBLE
READ THE BIBLE IN CONTEXT, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS
BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ
READ WHAT THE BIBLE ACTUALLY SAYS, IN WRITTEN WORDS
NEVER EVER EVER CHANGE THE DEFINITION OF WORDS, AND NEVER EVER EVER ADD PHRASES INTO A VERSE EVEN IN YOUR HEAD AND ESPECIALLY DON'T TEACH IT

THAT IS WHAT CALVINISM DOES. AND OTHER RELIGIONS.

VERY VERY, VERY BAD IDEA----WE WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT WE TEACH TO PEOPLE

I'm listening to you, are you gonna get to the point or are you gonna keep criticizing how she is. I'm very emotional also.
So you wanna talk about exegesis? That's exactly what Calvinists do ---excellent exegesis---- taking verses out of context constantly.
We are going to a church right now because we got into it before we realized they are Calvinists. My husbands boss goes there and they're great people. But let me just tell you it's called gospel city church. And they talk about the gospel and they share the gospel Kind of like an evangelist does.
But I can hear the words they are especially picking and choosing to use.
But my point is why are they sharing the gospel when they don't believe that just anybody can believe. I mean, if God is going to make sure that you are saved, you don't need to hear the gospel Because what God wants ---God gets.
THAT'S MY POINT, REGARDING THE SHARING OF THE GOSPEL AND THE GREAT COMMISSION IN THE BIBLE.
See, I don't for one second believe God has us do anything without a very important reason. And according to Calvinism and the way Calvinism says God is, there is absolutely no need for the Bible or the gospel. Jesus is simply the way God decided to make people be right for him. But GOD is the one who decided who is getting the privilege of being right in his eyes.
What a horrible, horrible gospel of doom Calvinism is. Only special people can believe. The rest will LITERALLY go to hell in a handbasket.
THAT IS NOT THE GOD OF LOVE AND JUSTICE, WHOM I SERVE NOR WHOM THE BIBLE SPEAKS OF.

YOU ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE ----ARE VERSES THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE FOR A REASON. 🤔NOT JUST BECAUSE OR WHATEVER. THERE IS A REASON 💁🏻‍♀️ YOU ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE.
