Official Lyric Video for the setting of the Exsultet, written by Ryan Clouse. On the Catholic Churches most holy of days, this prayer will be proclaimed at the beginning of the Easter Vigil, signifying Christ's victory over death, signified by the Easter Candle. Seeing the church in complete darkness, slowly being overcome by candlelight throughout the congregation is one of the most beautiful moments of the year, and a wonderful reminder of Jesus' power over sin, and our power to spread his light throughout the entire world.

A wonderful piece in it's own right, to which I want to spend more time listening in order to feel comfortable with. I've been involved with music and Catholic worship for fifty years, so there's a tension in me at a revisioning this grand old piece. With the new Roman Missal, this a reasonable approach to dealing with the shortcomings in the English translation, particularly the references to the bees. I've tried and there really is no way to accommodate the old melodic formulae with the newer pedantic language. The video is first rate, and I want to commend your effort and results. It could not have been easy, but it is well worth it. Thank you and God bless you!
