The Exultet or Easter Proclamation (Praeconium Paschale) is the hymn of praise sung by the deacon before the paschal candle during the Easter Vigil in the Roman Rite of Mass.

I've been a deacon going on 11 years (June 2011 will be 11 years), and I'm finally going to do the Exultet. Thank you, Deacon, for posting this. I've been practicing using you as a way to practice and get the music down, and the inflections down. Thank you. Pray for me for the Easter Vigil 2021.

I am deacon in formation and can't wait to chant the exultet some day. Deacon, you did a beautiful job of it! This Mass needs a lot of drama and reverence, for the benefit of the newly baptized and confirmed, as well as the rest of us. What a blessing to hear it chanted well!

just one question; in our parish the Exultet, featured in the first part of the easternight, is sung in the dark; and also is advised to be sung only in the light of candles. (Electric Light comes with the Gloria)
Is this just our parish? We're catholic christians?
