I'm pretty sure I have ADHD, but the problem is after being diagnosed with Autism last year (at age 31), every health professional I have raised the topic and described my struggles to chalks them up to being symptoms of Autism... I know there is overlap, but there are too many discrepancies for it to just be this ><

I was warned by a GP that diagnoses often stops people from learning about themselves and their neurotype, when in reality it seems to be everyone else around me who has stopped questioning it or taking me seriously! They seem very willing to put me in a box and wash their hands of me now that I have a diagnosis. I'm glad to have one, but its opened up new issues too

How is it late onset just because you’ve hid it your whole life??? The ability to diagnose does not change that you were born a certain way.

Just asking as a 52 year old who just figured out I’m AuDHD.
