For beginning music producers: just start and make a track. Finish it. It definitely would sound like shit but that’s not the point. Produce your second song. Your third etc. After 100 finished tracks you’ve gained some crucial experience. Especially on finishing tracks which is mostly underrated but very important. Every new track you make will make you better at producing. So, please, don’t give up after making one or a few tracks. Continue and you will progress towards the right music path. Enjoy making music to all of you guys and girls!! Oh, btw: watching videos from Jon Sine will help you a lot. 😊

I've been making music for years and I'm still learning from a beginners tips video, that's how complex it's this

I just wanted to add:

You know whats better than a perfect track?....A finished one.

Dont over think a single track. (ie mixing, checking levels, eqing, mastering)

I like how he talks about the length it can take to truly know your DAW. There are so many ins and outs to each DAW that it takes time. Some poeple get very discouraged when they don't learn it in a few months. Keep at it! Great Video

Hello Jon! Because of this covid situation I have had more time to watch youtube videos. I found your channel and I liked your content even if we do completely different genres of electronic music. I have been making music since the early 90’s.

Here’s my tips for new people in music business.

1) surround yourself with people who like the same music

2) network with producers / dj’s in the same phase and support and hype with each other

3) attend events, meet organizers and other local people in the field, but don’t push yourself

4) always be humble and honest

5) be active on social media, but remember that it is important to give a good picture of yourself

Hope theres something to think about on these tips :)

This is on point. Took me a year to learn the daw and it took about 2 years to understand the music theory and I still dont fully understand compression. I'm 2 and a half years in

The most important thing really is that you should never think you know everything and you are the best producer ever, and every one of your songs is a banger. I actually have a very similar story what opened my eyes that my songs are not good enough. I met a guy who is mixing and mastering professionally, and I showed him a song I did (probably the 20th or so) to him, and he was lik e "This sounds like your first song". And I was like And this made me wanna learn and progress a lot. I am definately not the best producer out there, and I still need to learn a lot, but this is just how it works. You can't make your 50th song without making your first.

I would recommend using Bandlab. Easy to use, Free, Full, and it has a ton os tools to help beginners, like "auto mastering". It has a ton of different loops, covering any style, and you can use its social media to your advantage "publishing" your song.

Thanks for the tips. I might be out of topic but I sometimes feel very depressed that I can't make beats and can only mix vocals and sometimes I don't even have vocals to me and I seat in my studio doing nothing. I feel bad

Garageband is so underrated, I made so many great tracks that got a lot of positive feedback with just using Garageband and im still using it!

Excellent video Jon! The only other tip i would add is to always finish what you start. So many producers start tracks and never finish them. No matter how much you might end up hating the track, finish it!

Great advice. I started producing by downloading the demo of FL Studio and figuring it out myself. It’s different for everyone though, which is perfectly fine
