Not being separated from the love of Christ is NOT proof that we are to pray to saints. Also, Paul not verbally excluding a group doesn't mean that they're included. If I am talking to family members and I ask them to go relay my message to the family, I am expecting them to relay it to those who they can actually speak to. With prayer, there is NONE that needs to be prayed to except Christ.

Praying to the dead is strictly forbidden in the Bible. Deuteronomy 18:11 tells us that anyone who “consults with the dead” is “detestable to the Lord.”

The mishandling of Scripture is mind blowing. No Context and adding implications to Scripture. Also, the account of Samuel is the perfect example of why we shouldn’t pray to the deceased🤦🏽‍♂️

Death doesn't separate from the love of Christ, that doesn't mean they are cut?? How on earth did you come to this conclusion?
Death can't separate us because of the resurrection of Jesus, but we will never be cut, as the Lord promised!
That doesn't mean we should pray to people who passed away.
Like 2 Peter 3 : 4 it says:
For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
If we go the book of Daniel in the last chapter, 12 : 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
Some to everlasting life,
Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
And also it says in the last verse of the last chapter the Angel told Daniel verse 13 “But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”

Daniel is resting and will arise for his inheritance at the END of the days.

All saints all God's people who are passed now, they are resting till the great day they will resurrect to meet the Lord in the skies first then the living will be raptured to meet with the Lord.

“So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;”
‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Saul did not speak to Samuel but a familiar spirit that looked like him.
This teaching in the video is incorrect.

Also context is key, when referring to Romans 8 nowhere in the chapter is prayer to dead saints mentioned.
The part references that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

Hello

But you don’t find a single instance of anyone in the New Testament asking someone who is dead to pray for them

You don’t find Jesus saying, ask people to pray for you, also ask King David to pray for you…

You don’t find Peter telling people to do this

You don’t find Paul telling people to do this

You don’t find a single example of asking for intercession from a dead person

Unless you want to say Saul did with Samuel
Which was through a witch

There’s just no single example in scripture

You try to somehow maneuver it out of Revelation which is a high symbolic visionary book

The fact that you have the entire New Testament and can’t point to a single example of Jesus, Peter, Paul, ANYBODY either praying to dead people or obstructions people to do so should be alarming…

For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Their love and their hate and their envy have already perished, and forever they have no more share in all that is done under the sun.

Is this satire? Lots of scripture that do not provide any evidence of the topic at hand. That’s called twisting scripture.

I'm Catholic so asking for the intercession of the saints comes naturally to me.... But I understand that this teaching is too hard for non-Catholic Christians to wrap their heads around. It's sad really that they cannot even benefit from the amazing intercessions of the saints that some of us have experienced. I've prayed the rosary every day for the last five years and this prayer has given me So many miracles - mostly in the form of spiritual protection, healing from illnesses and innumerable blessings (I am not referring to worldly blessings because that is not what I ever ask for or am in need of). The rosary has brought me incredibly closer to the Lord. I have so much love for the Lord and my faith grows stronger every day. I wish protestants understood that the rosary is a reflection on the birth, life and death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that there is no need to reject it the way they do. Every night before I sleep I ask for the intercession of St Michael and he has never let me down when I am in need of protection from danger and spiritual warfare. That mantle of protection has extended to my children as well as every member of my family. (The rosary prayer brought my entire family of 9 siblings, my 2 children, many nieces, nephews and in-laws through the Covid pandemic completely unscathed while we watched so many others fall). Catholics need to share their miracle stories of these devotions a little more so others can benefit. It's not the Saints performing the miracles - Its God working through them - God is not offended and clearly he is hearing the prayers of the just. ❤

I seriously cannot see why I would pray to anyone other than God. It begs the question of the quality of one's spiritual life.

This is crazy. we are not Jesus we cannot do what he does. Saints are not omnipresent, How could they possibly hear everybody’s prayers and have the ability to address them? Catholics have so much implication. SMH

Prayer to the Saints and Mary is an ancient tradition of the early Church. Paul, in his letters contained in the Bible, encourages us to pray for one another so that GOD can hear everyone's prayers. It is not a sin and is not synonymous with adoration/veneration to pray to people closer to the LORD than us so that GOD can listen to our prayers in a better way. Intercession is a perfectly biblical concept, present in the Old Testament, where the Israelites always asked someone closer to GOD to pray for them (Moses, Abraham, the prophets...) and, as I said before, in the New Testament . The Apostles, when Mary was still alive, asked her to pray for them. Praying does not mean worshiping or venerating. We Catholics and Orthodox do not adore Mary and we do not adore the Saints and we do not adore the dead. Sometimes we ask these people closest to GOD to pray to the LORD for us. Purgatory is also biblical. Purgatory is a place of forgiveness and purification from one's sins. You can see this in 2 Maccabees 12, which I cannot quote now. The Israelites pray for souls to be forgiven. Obviously, some Catholics unfortunately exaggerate and go so far as to venerate Mary and the Saints as divinities, and this is a very serious sin. But obviously the Catholic Church does not teach this. Some make mistakes, but I only follow the Word of GOD, which allows us to ask people close to GOD to pray for us. Furthermore, most of the time we Catholics pray directly to the Father. Amen glory to GOD.

These verses quoted are correct but they do not directly or indirectly say Christians should pray to Saints and Mary as intercessors. What I found troubling is that in Marian antiphons Mary is ascribed names that are given only to God.

Thats a lot of babbling about nothing, no where in the bible does it say to pray to the saints. And jesus talking to moses and others was just that, talking, he certainly wasnt "praying" to them.

Guys, I know that talking, asking, and praying to the dead is necromancy, pagan worship, idolatry, and demonic worship because of my old traditional religious beliefs. They would ask favors like protection, good health, and wealth from their dead loved ones. They offer animal sacrifice, food, and burn paper money to the dead. You can see that what they are doing is worship. Worship is obedience and adoration. Worship belongs to only God. Please don't go ask the dead like King Saul, but go ask only God. We can pray to Jesus Christ because he is not dead. We can pray to Jesus Christ because he is God. He says to ask in his name that's why we conclude our prayer in the name of Jesus Christ. Whose name did Jesus Christ say to ask other than in his name and to his Father? Did Jesus Christ say to pray to the saints, martyred, or his mother?

‭Deuteronomy 18:10-11 KJV‬
[10] There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, [11] or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

‭1 Samuel 28:3-19 KJV‬
[3] Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land. [4] And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they pitched in Gilboa. [5] And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled. [6] And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets. [7] Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at En-dor. [8] And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee. [9] And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die? [10] And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing. [11] Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel. [12] And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul. [13] And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. [14] And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself. [15] And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do. [16] Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy? [17] And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David: [18] because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day. [19] Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.

This is my interpretation of the spirit of Samuel in the passage above. When you seek, ask, cry, or pray to the dead, you are actually seeking demonic spirits, evil spirits, unclean spirits, satanic spirits, and not the person you are seeking or asking for. They lie that they are the person you want to talk to. They are just your adversaries that have been around with you and other people for so long that they know everything that has happened to you and other people. They can tell you what is true, but they can also tell you lies because they are deceivers. So even if the spirit of the person you are asking for actually answers your prayer or shows up, please don't believe him or her. It's just a deception because they can transform and take on the appearance of the dead; they even have the same voice as the dead. Therefore, I beg you to please keep praying only to God in the name of Jesus Christ. He has heard all our prayers, but he doesn't answer all prayers. He always answers the prayers that align with his will; so, seek his kingdom and his righteousness in his words, obey and do his commands. Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Love your neighbor as yourself.

The passage goes this way (Luke 23:43/paraphrased), "Verily I say/promise to you, TODAY, you will/shall be with me in Paradise."... the English word TODAY, in the context of the passage does not mean the FULFILLMENT is Literally that same day it was spoken by Christ Jesus... why?... if that is literally meant "the same day fulfillment after it was spoken the promise, " then therefore, it follows that when both of them died on the cross that same day (Friday afternoon before the sundown), the Crucified Thief goes ahead in Heaven for Christ Jesus went to the tomb for 3 more days, before Christ resurrection, logically speaking... The Bible narrated that Christ Jesus ASCENDED to heaven 40 days after His resurrection day (Sunday) and many (approx. 500 not including women and children) had witnessed the ascension of Christ in Heaven...

How about Lazarus the beggar at the bosom of Abraham in Heaven after he died that was seen by the Sinful Rich guy suffering in Hell?... It was a symbolic VISION of how the Righteous Hungry Poor people will be comforted by God in Heaven, and the Sinful Rich guy suffer in hell in the AFTERLIFE...

Let us continue analyzing the statement given by Christ at the cross before He died... "Today, you will/shall be with Me in Paradise."... After the word TODAY, it was followed by FUTURE TENSE (you "will/shall be" with Me in Paradise) and not stated as "Today, you are with Me in Paradise."... (present tense)... NOPE!

In conclusion... The English word TODAY was the promise given that same day at the cross but the FULFILLMENT of the promise will be carried on at the FIRST RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD PEOPLE OF GOD (Rev. 20:4-6/1 Corin. 15:20/1 Thessa 4:16/Hebw. 6:1-2/Acts 1:9-12/Zach. 14:1/Daniel 7:13-27, etc.)... that will be Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, the Prophets of God, John the Baptist, the Apostles, Martyrs, Saints, Blessed Mary, etc... including the THIEF who died on the cross in whom Christ had promised salvation approx. 2000 years ago...

Glory, Praise, and Thanks be to God, In Christ Jesus' name... Amen... May the Peace be with you...
