Independent here. He is correct about inflation — him nominating Paul Volecker as fed chair was the greatest achievement of Carter’s presidency that most people do not understand. Volecker slaughtered inflation by taking interest rates to over 15%, leading to a decline in inflation for the next 40 years, allowing one of the greatest economic expansions in history since the beginning of the 80s.
