He has helped people pretty much his whole life. He never gave up on doing good. Always treated his loving wife with respect and love. A very dear sweet man. I will cry when he goes. I wish there were a lot more people like him in the world.

I'm studying infectious diseases in grad school and cannot overstate the Carter Center's impact on nearly eradicating Guinea Worm disease. It's a painful and debilitating infection that causes individuals massive amounts of suffering, and his organization has almost completely wiped it out. It's incredible.

Thank you sir for everything, you have been a true inspiration to me most of my life. I remember when he came into office when I was a little girl, my grandparents took me to a campaign rally. When he visited Mt St Helens after the eruption in 1980 I was 9 years old I remember watching him on the news describe the devastation, I can remember hearing the sorrow and concern in his voice and I somehow knew it was real. He and his wife really did make the world a better place for so many people less fortunate. He was NEVER afraid to spread the word of God and they have lived a life of helping others, and practiced what they preached. He will be truly missed, but he will be rejoicing in his heavenly home. I am so glad he is able to spend his remaining time surrounded by love.

Jimmy Carter from what I learned in history class wasn’t a great President, but an amazing person. God bless him!

I was born in 1963 my favorite presidents have been Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan. It's hard for me to comprehend that we're about to lose Mr. Carter at some point. This world will be a smaller place without him. ❤❤❤

They have always said on my planet that Mr. Carter is one of the greatest ones and a man with compassion and a good heart is a better man, just look at all his accomplishments around the 70's and after his presidency. What a shame we don't have more politicians like him.

The world today desperately needs leaders like the sincerity and decency of Jimmy Carter.
He may not have been a particularly successful President but this was largely due to factors he did not cause, like inflation and, in particular, Iran. He was a great advocate for human rights and criticized human rights abuses in allied countries to the US as well as those against the US.
He has been the most successful former President in US history as well as being the oldest and the one who has lived the longest after he ceased being the President. He also had qualities like graciously conceding defeat in the 1980 Presidential election, unlike one man who was President until recently...
The world will definitely be a poorer place once he has gone and I am sure in time historians will rate his Presidency more highly, especially compared to that same man who did not concede defeat gracefully.
God bless Jimmy Carter and his family.

Very nice Bob Schieffer, I got a lump in my throat, for Carter's decency, we no longer see in our Presidents, altho the Carter years were the worse economic years of my life as a young mother trying to raise a child with no help from the government as I didn't know about Govt programs.
We were slim, however, we carried no extra weight to slow us down, and my son grew up to be a hard worker, which I am thankful for.
May Pres Carter have a peaceful passing. In the end, comfort is a blessing Hospice is a wonderful organization, I once worked for many years ago.
I wish we had more Presidents with moral character, we all would be better off as a country.

My son and I voted for him. He still is well loved by many, including myself. He was a decent
human being. We sure don't see that in our present leaders. I will be sad when he passes
another generation ending. 😢😢

A wonderful man whose Presidency was full of crises yet he tried his best. It didn't work out for him but he accomplished some good things. He wasn't your typical politician and could not be bought. This along with events largely beyond his control meant he was a one term President. He and his wife are a model of integrity, compassion and love. I wish we had more of that in 2024.
