I witnessed a man close fist slap his significant other several times on a flight from between the seats in the row in front of me. I got up, told the stewardess and also asked to not be identified as he was a scary large bad ass looking guy. They put him in plastic cuffs on the flight and separated him from her. Then I saw them holding hands at the baggage carousel (she refused to press charges). Felt awful for her...

No, the man should not have hit her in the head with a brick for simply getting rejected. Yes, somebody should have checked to see if she was alright, but no one was obligated to do anything retaliatory or otherwise. It's a shity scenario. Hopefully she heals and hopefully the perp gets caught.

While I'm not saying they should have stepped in considering that guy is definitely crazy. They could've called the cops, taken her to the hospital, or even just taken a picture of the guys licence plate. You don't have to get directly involved to help but they could have done something. Doesn't matter whether they're men or women. They could have done something.
