How to Get Rid of Grubs

preview_player
Показать описание
Grubs look like thick white worms with front legs. Grubs are not worms at all. Grub are larvae of Beetles such as Japanese Beetle. Beetles lay eggs in summer, and those eggs hatch in late summer, turn into larvae and dig underground and start eating the roots of plants. Grubs are harmful for the garden. There are two natural ways to get rid of grubs.

Thank you for your videos. We have a bearded dragon that gets to roam around our yard, so pesticides are not an option. Also since getting our pet, I am more aware of the dangers that pesticides to wildlife in general. I am glad to find some natural solutions to help my garden.

Omg thank you! These things have been driving me insane they are everywhere. Just poured the last of my cornmeal and ordered milky spore. So glad I found this video!

Now I don't feel so bad. All my plants with a few exceptions died. I pulled them and they had almost no roots! It was those grubs. Didn't figure that out until this summer as I was tilling the soil to prepare for cold weather veg. There are at least 100+ in a small raised bed. Those are the ones I have found, digging by hand. My chickens LOVED them. I will try your suggestions. Thank you so much! So milky spores AND corn meal. And a Japanese beetle trap on the other side of the yard. Thanks again for the lovely video! New sub!

That was perfect thank you. I've been trying to find a way to kill the grubs in my garden without worrying about what it might do to my chickens and other animals. In think i might share this tip on my channel too.

Best to use until the milky spore takes hold is to generously work sand into soil at roots
. Sand sticks on the goo of their bodies and they get stuck and fade away. Also saucers of beer. They love it, get into the beer and explode! Works but is expensive, you go through a lot of beer to kill a few grubs..

Thanks for the info. I just found a grub in my garden today (in one of my raised beds) I’m going to try the corn meal. Great video- all the other videos regarding grubs, were not very informative like you. Thank you.

My bearded dragon is my all natural grub control, lol. He patrols my raised beds while I garden, anytime I find a grub he makes short work of it

Hi Jag, I just love your channel! Do I have to dig and bury the cornmeal under the mulch? Thank you!

I have wood chip mulch in my garden and will frequently find grubs munching away at the wood chips. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on my plants to see if I need to control them. Milky spores are expensive, but I might try that corn meal solution (supposedly it works for slugs too)

I have never had a grub issue yet. Knock on wood. LOL because before I plant my fall and spring gardens I set my chickens out. They free range but not into the gardens only when its clean up. 👍 I hope I never have a grub issue but will use the corn meal in the future if I do. Thanks 😀
