I laughed so much when you said, "I am not a monster!" - omg - the best! 🤣🤣 I just listened to a podcast where the woman was giving the hosts a hard time for NOT reading the ending first. I was so confused. I mean, who does that?? Such a fun tag! I'm the opposite with stopping in a book. It drives me crazy to stop in the middle of a sentence or chapter! Though I'm horrible at reading a lot of books at the same time, lol.

This is such a fun tag. I somewhat envy your ability to read regardless of background noise. I could probably tune out quite coffee shop noise, but if I can make out a distinct conversation I have to pause whatever I'm reading. 😅

“I’m not a monster!” 😂 Yet another way we are similar in our attitude towards keeping books perfect - I was better at that as a child than I am as an adult where for years I would just crack spines because it never bothered me as I felt books looked well loved. Since starting Spread Book Joy, I have been much more careful and my pretty books delight me. But I’m not going to get too upset if a book is damaged while reading unless it is irreparable and irreplaceable, like my childhood books. Happy hour reading is fantastic - I miss reading in bars and coffee shops. Still doesn’t feel quite normal to do so.☹️

PS I also reading chunks because that's the way I was taught as a very young child. I have to admit I sometimes read aloud to myself. Maybe I enjoy hearing myself talk LOL. Aloha

Great video, Gina! Thanks for the tip on chunking words while reading. I'm trying that. I used to have to read sitting up in bed because I didn't have enough sense to stop reading when I was sleepy. 😀 Now I can read while lying down and turn out the light when I get sleepy. I love reading and don't know why I would fight sleep so much.
