The Stare

The stare is a video piece that focuses on how someone reacts to being intensely stared at. It creates an encounter between the person on screen and the viewer through a series of one minute clips, one after the other, of people just staring into the camera. The video acts as a presence provoking a feeling of discomfort in the viewer.

Very wonderful piece of work. I don't know if its because of me or the persons on the video, but each face created such a intense effect on me, sometimes tears wanted to fall off my eyes. I was expecting even longer video, such a magnificent art.

This is a great video. I felt the only way to watch was to stare back as if we were in person, and I learned things. Some people who looked a bit shocking at first seemed just right after a minute of gazing. With many, I even had a sense of having "stuck it out" with.. each other, lol. I have PTSD and it was hard to get through even two minutes of this video. For me, someone staring gives me the notion that they have a bad intention. I hate being stared at. Part of me turns this video off, the other part wants to do severe harm to these people. Thankfully, rationalism prevailed on this one.
