SSRS Report Builder Tutorial: Creating Your First Report

Data Source, Dataset, Data Region
I answer these questions in this video tutorial. I show you the basics of what you need to know to get a grid of data up on a report. As well, I cover the bones of all SSRS reports – a Data Source, s Dataset, and a Data Region.

These are the three things you must create when you develop an SSRS report. They answer the three fundamental questions need for a report.

1. Where are you going to get the data? - A Data Source
2. What is the data you need? - A Dataset
3. How do you want to display the data? - A Data Region

I also cover creating and publishing the port to the Report Manager Website. This tutorial covers all the fundamental pieces you will use to create standard SSRS tabular reports. Please ask any questions you may have.

Any suggestions on where to get the type of training you were talking about at the 18:30 mark? I reign from Alabama and would like something in the southeast that is hands on...online would work too but I like hands on. Great video and probably one of the best I have found to get started!

Could you please provide the permission setup regarding ssrs? I setup ssrs2016, i can login ssrs portal and upload reports. However i cannot setup any success datasource. All combination all accounts fail to connect. I dont know what went wrong...

now i want to config same report on another system.
is it possible for me to Export report from 1st server and then save it on another system?

Question, can you edit the description of a subscription using a sql script without affecting the report? We have 11 subscriptions tat all have the same type of description and we would like to change them to help distinguish which is which
