I remember soloing nightfalls with this thing. You would just hangout way beyond enemy aggro and snipe everyone. It didn’t matter if you were way underleveled, you just needed to find a good cheese spot, which was a big thing in the content community.

can’t forget about pairing it with rime coat raiment’s bleak domain. standing in the field will let your shots apply slow, which will basically give IB free ammo

It’s so cool to have a weapon that compliments a build but doesn’t need to take up the damage type of said build so you can pair it with a gun that does.

this weapon while not a dps monster, doesn’t need to be. i think it’s perfectly compliments a stasis build and excels in general play. it’s become part of my current seasonal load out with the new stasis chest piece on warlock, it feels literally perfect in that regard for what it is.

Someone was playing around with a 3-mag Discord Solar sniper a few seasons back, where you could get instant ignitions since you got radiant in one shot, and thought "hey, you could make an exotic out of that"

Ice break could work in a dps rotation with liturgy and the new dungeon stasis heavy gl. Just use envious chill clip liturgy, the icebreaker, then envious bait chill inhibitor in a loop

While I see how the caty is useful, I would’ve liked if it increased precision damage on stasis affected combatants. Feels like it would really spice it up and make it more worthwhile to do the quest

Icebreaker was the first dwstiny exotic i ever got it was always my favorite it carried through so many different eras of the game

I remember telling my friend to buy Ice Breaker from Xur for me back in D1 while I was in another country traveling.
The thing that he was mad at me for getting Gjallarhorn from the Winter’s run nightfall on the same day so telling him to get me Ice Breaker was like a slap in his face 😂😂

People who say the catalyst is bad or even not great are the people who only read it but haven’t used it in combat. That catalyst is crazy good. Been using IB as a primary weapon on my stasis Titan since I got its catalyst and I can’t think of a single moment where I’ve run out of ammo once aside from one time where I purposefully blanked 10 shots to test its ammo generation from 0.

I really don't see this becoming a mainstream option in pvp. To truly make it meta it locks you into a stasis subclass or stasis perk primary for optimal ammo economy. And I'm judging this based on comp/trials 3v3 where ammo economy matters most. Getting 2 kills for one more shot doesn't do much in a trials situation. And this also locks you out of more beneficial exotic options as your primary weapon too. I see it being usable, but not meta. And I'm also a full-time sniper since the beginning of D1. Even during these slumps. As a sniper main, I can't see myself even keeping it in my inventory.

How does it stack against Izanagi’s Burden? They’re both meant to chunk big health enemies and champs so I wonder which one does it better. Yeah Izanagi per bullet would be more but Icebreaker has the shot consistency
