Dude I was just grinding pikachu candy and caught a shiny pikachu without even realizing it, thank god the game gives you a warning when you try to send a shiny to oak. It just happened to also be a tiny variant so instead of the normal shiny aura it just had the regular blue.

You can also favourite your shiny Pokémon to have even less chance of accidentally transfering them.

Just to be clear, you can do 200 AVs for each stat, unlike Evs where there is a total of 510 and you can only use 252 max per stat.

for those of you not knowing what mon drops what candy, it would be the same stat candy that they wouldve EV wise

If you don’t want to combo weedle for speed candies pidgey is another good option

You can get candies for taking your pokemon for walks in the pokeball plus controller. If you're a poke go player you can kill two birds with one stone. You're leveling you let's go pokemon just by walking and it'll find candie. Also when a pokemon is in the ball it'll automatically spin poke stops for you. Super nifty. Not the most efficient method but just something you can do in your spare time with minimal effort. I'm able to do this while I'm at work because it's completely hands free
