Thank you so much for acknowledging that clothes should work seated! I’m chronically ill & disabled, sometimes use a wheelchair, sometimes a rollator and it’s not just the comfort issue, but so many clothes just LOOK weird sitting down (especially seated in the posture of using a wheelchair which is very compact and symmetrical). Like all pants look bad in a wheelchair, why? Another thing I struggle with is that so much of fashion the proportions are created for standing (which as you pointed out is so silly because MOST of us sit most of the time disabled or non disabled!), and just don;t really function the same seated. If you ever wanted to do a video or even portion of a video looking at styling or outfit ideas for seated proportions i would LOVE that, and I’m sure there are others who would to.

First of all, can we take a moment to appreciate the cinematography? The editing? The craftsmanship of this video? Stunning. The different camera angles, the outfits for different segments, the background music that actually lends to the atmosphere of the video instead of disrupting it, the clean transitions and framing; chef’s kiss. I’ve noticed it for a while, honestly, and I feel like Miss Liz Beepworld’s efforts are absolutely paying off!

Second, if I ever have children, I will show them this video for educational purposes. I’m so not a mood board person and am not organized, but this is making me want to actually try to commit to organization, planning, and tracking with my wardrobe and outfits. And I feel like this is so perfect because no one can really solve your style dilemmas except yourself, so this is a “help you help yourself” lesson. Love it!

Finally, I love it when you style outfits in videos! The teaching and research are also great, but I enjoy seeing other people create outfits (art, honestly), as I just think it’s so fun to see what combos people can come up with. It was fun to see that again in this video. (I was a little sad we didn’t get a close-up of those pants in your first styled outfit. Maybe one day.)

beepworld's process for later reference:
1:15 - find external inspo and organize it
3:41 - find inspo in your existing wardrobe and outfits
5:09 - tips for the former process
7:19 - analyze + take notes of inspo and existing wardrobe and outfits
9:38 - give yourself a treat <3
9:48 - connect to the real life
12:55 - find gaps in the wardrobe (+ make wishlist)
15:11 - play dressup (shop your own wardrobe before buying new things)

I work while seated and I was mind-blown when you mentioned that clothes should work for when we are seated. I never really thought about that and would blame my belly fat for being uncomfortable in my jeans. But at least I tend to choose clothes that are comfortable for me to sit down in most of the times, even if my thinking process of choosing them didn't consciously include that detail. Maybe that is the reason why I have been so much into dresses in the last few years.

about identifying things you don't like on yourself: kinda obvious but this is also a thing you should do slow! your mood on a certain day will affect how good you feel in a certain siluette or garment or color.

I think it can also be important to learn to differentiate between discomfort with an outfit and discomfort with...yourself I guess? if that makes sense. or not necessarily You in general, but small things like not feeling good with your current hairstyle (I'm in the process of growing out a buzzcut so I get it lol) or feelikg bad about the condition of your skin (we all have breakouts!) and stuff like that. like give it a few tries before deciding that this cut of trousers is no longer your thing etc. ofc sometimes you just Know that a garment or style is not for you! but sometimes you need to chew it over. I think that kind of pondering is important especislly before getting rid of things in your wardrobe.

AND I think the most important thing is recognizing that when you're uncomfortable with a thing about your looks, A) your outfit is not the problem here. no need to panic and B) you dont always need to fix the thing that's actually bothering you! sometimes you Can't fix said thing! and that's Fine!!! you don't need to look your best at all stages of your life. you don't Need to look your best ever actually, but you get what I mean.

It was very important for me to get comfortable with that uncomfortableness, if that makes sense. stop figting against it and just let it be. Accept that the outfit is the clothes and I'm just wearing it, my body is NOT part of the outfit and thus not a thing I need to fix.

Can I just say I love how this video (and many of your other videos) are not specific to one style? I have a very alternative style and often can’t seem to relate to fashion YouTubers who have a different style than me, but this is great! I found myself mentally taking notes and going through some of the steps while I was watching

My style is nowhere near as colorful or detailed as yours and I'm not really one to put much effort into fashion, but all of your videos are just so delightful that I can't help but watch them and be inspired! Thank you!

I've had such a fun resurgence with my style lately with just pattern mixing or styling opposition pieces together. Definitely in my maximalist era !!

The point about being seated is so fascinating to me! I just recently went from working a job where I stand all day to one where I’m seated(my feet are so grateful!), and I’m astonished by how many of my tops/pants don’t fit nearly as well after sitting for multiple hours straight. I have button ups that bulge, waistbands that become too tight, and pant legs that now aren’t nearly long enough so my ankles show over my socks. The transition had been rough style wise, so I’m super looking forward to using these points and tweaking my work style to feel like my casual style but like… in a practical, work appropriate way.

12:03 Love love LOVE the hilarious self-effacing humor of this!! But actually, I listened to the mouse-voice because I find it helpful to hear other’s thought processes on fashion, even when it’s different from mine!
Really excellent format, tips, and editing, btw! Thanks for all your hard work!!💖✨

Wow!!! You worked so hard for this, it’s truly amazing.
I have been stuck in a rut for 7 years, and only recently have felt that I can move forward creatively. I have years and years of Pinterest boards, that I look back and admire. But that’s where it stops. Recently what has helped is to match items together that I have never before, get my creative juices working. I also found you and other YouTubers so inspirational and I get so many ideas. I am a working mom with a side hustle, the time to make all the board and stuff feels like it might be overwhelming for me. But the concepts I love. Maybe I can do this, in a condensed version. My favorite part of changing this up, is that I don’t have to buy anything new. It’s all about using what I have in different ways, or tailoring things to make it fit nice. I also make clothing patterns and sew (professionally), which helps my style process, if I hate something, I take it apart and make something new from it 😅

Thank you for including the "practical constraints". I have just recently noticed that I probably have way too many clothes for the fact that I am mostly in scrubs all day:( But I love all of my clothes and can't seem to part from any of them...

This video was so thoughtful and inspiring! I feel so energised to get out of my clothing/styling rutt now. I kept thinking about how helpful this video is throughout the start and it reminded me of Hannah Louise Poston's video, qnd then you brought it up! Such a fun moment for me. I love how you both tackle the same issue, but with different insights and processes. Thanks again for the incredible video x
