Boom! Love this. I've been uploading in private and getting my CC in place before I switch it to public. I figured, meta data is most important at the beginning of a videos life so, the sooner the better. Nice to hear that this might actually be helping.

I usually do my own captions using VLC media player with the speed set to 30% and I type them out manually then add them on Youtube. Doesn't take too long for a 5 minute video if your typing speed is decent.

My goodness! I've never thought about that Nick! Usually I put subtitles in spanish cause I have a little latino community that watch my videos, but I never thought about correcting the inaccurate english subtitles from youtube itself!!!! Hey Nick! Rev looks amazing. I think we might contact them (via your link of course). We have to upload our videos in 11 languages so this could be a real time and energy saver. Question though - Do you know of an easier way to upload multiple files at once for subtitles? I've heard of a Package Manager or something similar but I'm not sure if we have access to that.

One of the things I like about closed captions on YouTube videos is the fact that they are a "set and forget" technique that actually appears to work. So much video promotion seems to be hard work that has to be carried out continuously day after day, whereas captions can be added once and then it's done for any video. Oh! And I forgot to ask! We edit our captions so that there are no errors in the transcript... does this affect what YouTube sees in the transcript for the purposes of search ability?
