Admittedly most of the discussion is around programming for CrossFit, but some of the principles we discuss will still apply to those seeking other types of strength training program design. We get asked all the time to do an introduction to programming concepts, so here you have it! But by no means is this an end all be all discussion on programming, this is just meant to get the party started! Another great podcast. I'm from NYC and started Crossfit about a year ago and love it. I'm thinking about doing the SSC too. Thanks for keeping my car rides entertaining and providing us all with helpful information pertaining to weightlifting, nutrition, conditioning, recovery, etc.

Really happy to see Kurt Mullican on the show more (My coach in the SSC so I may be a bit bias) haha, I love all the hosts but he adds a little extra humor that makes the show even that much better (hard since its already great).

Great episode! Can you please make a list of good programming resources such as the books you mentioned? Also did Coach McElroy do the full OPEX CCP course or the OPEX program design course, I'm thinking of doing that course.

what importance do you feel coaches notes for athletes are? i have tried to give my athletes a focus for the day and an energy system to try and maintain yourself in throughout the workout. just would like to hear your thoughts.

There are literally no books on CrossFit other than expiriences and stuff.
