Darin is using the onboard soundcard to utilize the digital audio. Then the simvibe on the add on card. My setup is having the simvibe software on the onboard, and the add on for my speakers to get the better quality there.

Great job on the reviews guys. I'm just waiting for pCars to support this and then I think I'll buy some transducers and a 4-channel amp to power them all. Combine SimVibe with the Oculus Rift and things are going to get very interesting later this year! Definitely the best year for sim racing in a long time.

@Sean: "you could be using a multi-channel amp". Agree that the multi-channel bit does not matter, but the Buttkicker amps are way underpowered, and a better amp does really matter (as much as it does with audio). I personally prefer the Behringer iNuke amplifier range with DSP. I use the DSP delay to set the offset/distance from tactile speaker to the virtual wheel. Would love to see you do reviews of popular amps for tactile as well as tactile speakers,

Not too well-versed with audio amps and the like, so thank you very much for walking through your hardware setups. Very much appreciated. 4x transducers on the way now, suspension after..

Chassis Mode will deliver the feeling from the front and back of the cars chassis, and the Extension Mode will deliver feedback through the wheels position. So having both will give you everything you need.

Hi Eric, I'll have to check it out. Not that I recall but I have been driving the Daytona Prototype. You should get with Bernie at Sim Vibe to help solve the problem :-)

I am a bit confused, you say Quadraphonic in the video but choose 5.1 Surround?

Long and short PCI Express slots (most common on todays computers) are actually kinda the same. The first slot is the same in all, that's the power, but the next slot is for data and the longer slots transfer the same data, just faster (from 1x and up to 16x).

That means any smaller card will fit in a bigger slot so you can fit the sound card in the slot usually used for a graphics card. If you dremel the lot it works in reverse, but the graphics card will run slower.

You've got me curious (only have one BK on a normal seat) but disappointed your review didn't mention the list of compatible racing titles. Hopefully you get a chance to try this out on various games and can let us know later. I'll have to search in the meantime.

Damn, you guys made me buy my first ButtKicker. Not going for Simvibe yet, just want to give it a try based on volume. But using inputs from the games themselves sounds neat...

I dont think there is a better. Darin is happy in extensions mode and I am happy in Chassis. It really comes down to personal preference.

Could you show off your platform the cockpit is sitting on? I'd like to build one similar

have you considered switching to using that sound card for your audio and using your onboard for the shakers?

your going to get higher quality sound out of that expansion sound card than your onboard sound ;)

LOL.. Shauns fine thanks for the concern.. He has a little Max Headroom in him when he has to say certain lines ;-) - Darin PS He's been doing it for years, we just have hidden it well

I think that next time you do a long race you should download evga precision edge if you have the evga 690 and turn the fan 100% so that the gpus don't overheat.

I want to run two ButtKicker Gamer 2's. How do I run the amps off the sound card? For extensions mode in Simvibe for the one that will go to my pedals and the other on my seat?
One line from green output to one amp, and 9ne Lind from black output to the other amp? Or just a splitter from the green or black output to both amps?
Any advice I appreciated. Thanks.

I'm out of PCIE slots on my motherboard, I wonder if a USB external sound card will work.

What is one of the best amps that you can use for your butt kickers? And if you have multiple amps how do you hook up all four amps up as far as wiring them together
