I don’t look back, i don’t look forward, i look NOW in this life

We all need this reminder. I have grown, at age 71, through God’s Grace, in the year 2023.
The biggest, most meaningful lesson that I have learned is the present is all that I have. The past cannot be rewritten, nor can the future be forecast. My energy is focusing on awareness of my thoughts.
These are a part of the wisdom handed down for centuries. We learn in God’s timing.
Happy New Year. Let’s begin afresh as Ms. Sandra suggests.

I lost my husband at the end of 2022 after 45 years. We were best friends and were looking forward to his retirement. It has been a hard year and now I, like yourself, am trying to work out what my new life will be. One good thing has happened though. I had some anger in me from past experiences in childhood which I seemed to aim at one person. Not to her face but it ate away at me inside. After my husbands death the anger has vanished. It is no longer important. I am inspired by you to try to think positively and make the most of the years I have left. I have had a little Maltese, Monty, and he keeps me occupied and gives me love and I love him. I also have a daughter who is here for me and I for her. Thank you for all the words of wisdom you send our way and let us look forward to the journey ahead wherever that leads. ❤❤

Two years ago I moved into a retirement community for companionship. It has proven to be a huge blessing: the new friends, the activities, the happy surprises a day can bring. However, the saddest thing about living here is losing friends as they pass on. John Denver sang that some days are diamonds and some days are coal. 2024 will give us more of each. My prayer is that we are emotionally strong enough to meet each day with courage or joy and always with thanksgiving, the appropriate response to anything.

Happy New Year Sandra and all wonderful community members! I’m going to memorize these two Bible verses and do them in my morning prayer and meditation time. Ephesians 6:19-20 says “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” God’s Blessing to All. ❤❤❤

I think your message today is very appropriate for all of us!!! I try to live in the present moment as much as possible—I do think about the past and the future—we all do, but what is going on right now is where the majority of my thoughts and actions happen. I practice gratitude above all else and strive to be better today than yesterday!!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your plan of action—you have a very special way of explaining how important it is for us to think and act positively every day. I appreciate the time and effort you spend towards sharing your life experiences, as well as how you are reinventing yourself after the loss of your precious husband. It’s so easy to just give up when a major change comes our way—but your example is a stellar one, and I hope to follow in your footsteps to make my life the best it can possibly be today and in the days to

I lost my hubby 9/21/23 and I know it is still fresh, but it was good for me to hear this, because I know I will no longer be the same and I have to move forward differently.🙏🏽❤

Thanks Sandra. I was having these same thoughts. I’m so done being stuck in the mud. Older age is sometimes a time when we look back over our lives and realize that it didn’t turn out the way we may have wanted. Coming to terms with that is what will allow me to embrace what is with gratitude

Over the past few years, I have been trying to reinvent myself by decluttering not only material possessions but also memories that were not good ones. I’ve learned to forgive those people and let go of them. I have also looked at those things that I accomplished in spite of those negative people and realized that I can do whatever I decide is right for me. This year I am embracing positivity and simplicity. I think they go together well. I learned from my dad to never give up, keep fighting until the last breath.
Thanks Sandra for your inspiring messages.

I live in the moment because that's all we truly have. I never look back and I'll deal with tomorrow if and when it happens.
Living in the moment is so freeing and I'm so content.
Happy New to you Sandra and to everyone ❤️. I hope it's happy, healthy and kind to us all ❤

2023 was not a good year for me. April had pneumonia. In the hospital for a week. May 26 my dog and his sister was running in a field. Ran smack into my leg. Broke my leg in 6 places from knee down. Was in the hospital for 2 weeks. I say 2024 is going to be the best year ever.

I like the phrase, 'my book has not been written yet.' I turn 70 in 2024.

I’m so glad that i found your channel. Have been going through some things, including one of my best friends of many years moving far away. Have been mired in depression and sadness. But I can’t stay there and waste precious time. I need to work on things and your words and thoughts have helped immensely. Time to look forward, not back.
