Whoever gets the record time down to under 24 hours is going to be a legend. Imagine driving from NYC to LA in under a day

53 hours...in 1933? Now that's impressive!

Just finished my modified 1981 Delorean. If i get it up to 88mph, i should make the run by yesterday.

The amateur team are the real heroes. They saw the oportunity and took it with minimal gadgets. Just a fast car and lots of fuel

You caught me good in that smooth transition into the AD spot. A very relevant AD in the middle of the video bringing more context to the content instead of completely ruining the video and the train of thought! This is the only right way to do mid-video sponsors! 👏👏👏

imagine spending hours preparing for the cannonball just for a leased audi A8 to beat you💀

edit: How does this have 10k likes💀

I hear a lot of the covid runs will not necessarily count or be footnoted as such... But it's unlikely those runs will be beat until the next pandemic

Say what you will about the Pandemic but I miss how open the roads were. As a car enthusiast and someone who genuinely feels more at home behind the wheel, it was awesome basically having the roads to yourself at times.

i watched cannonball as a kid with my dad, ive always wanted to drive NYC to LA under 24 hours. But damn such an insane run which probably wont be toppled for a few years

You have done a great job narrating the history of the Cannon Ball Run, well worth a listen. Thanks

One thing I’m surprised no one is talking about is how the cars didn’t break down at high rpms for that long

Jeremy was right. The fastest car in the world is a rental, close enough tho

I believe it. I wouldn't do it again but I did 130 MPH from Dallas, Texas to Denver, Colorado in about 4-5 hours (normally ~12 hour drive) back in like 2017.

Hello to a juror in the future watching this in a courtroom!

I’m kinda glad this isn’t a super popular thing. Not because it’s a cool thing to know about, but because this truly is one of the most dangerous things you could do. Obviously if you’re trained professionals and are good at what you do, you’ll be much safer. Being said, I could see too many amateurs trying this and ending before making it to the finish line. Worse yet, ending someone else’s life.

We need to get Clarkson, May and Hammond to do this challenge! It would be the greatest video on the internet.

I still want to do a German version of this with a twist: Going from Kiel to Munich as fast as possible - WITHOUT breaking traffic laws. Large stretches of no speed limit should make this easier, but it would be its own little challenge.

i’m subbing just for the simple fact of how smooth the transition into the ad was. I genuinely did not realize i was watching an ad till you said it at the end. extremely well put together and informative video.

I can promise you, NOBODY, has ever seriously considered an ev for a Cannonball.

Guess that’s where the inspiration for NFS the run came from
