The main issue with using a scope is the massive learning curve that requires you to have a very solid understanding of vehicle electronics and just electronics in general … Ever try to explain how a relative compression test works to a tech that barly knows how a starter works ? .

I just bought a $37 FNIRSI DSO-510. It’s a small hand held single channel scope, somewhat well made with a challenging users manual. It would be great if the users manual was more thorough and if they had domestic tech support. I actually bought two of them as the first one had a glitchy switch, so before sending it back I used its signal generating feature to practice and figure out the one I intend on keeping. Amazon has been very good with returns. I did contact their tech support and received a reply, but it’s 13 hours ahead of us. They did respond with an answer. I’ll have to try it out soon.

I've been looking for my first scope for a while and decided to go with the HS512 Max ($150) that works with HScope for Android. Just bought it and hopefully it will be a good choice! Time will tell!

I always recommend the 2 channel picoscope 2205A. You get the great pico scope software and 90% of the time, a 2 channel scope gets the job done no problem. Its also very affordable too.

The hantek can be used in any part lf world right? I know scanner has protocols but scope doesnt has this problem right? Im.just asking to be sure i wont have problems using it in latinamerica. Scope is a tester so can be used any part of the globe thats my understanding

My uscope stopped working and I replaced it with the Leolov handdeld 2-channel scope ivan talks about on his channel. It's awesome, super easy to adjust with the buttons instead of the tiny menu and uses full size bnc connectors.

No way you can wait on a crank sensor to mess up on flat rate. A flat rate guy isn’t going to carry a laptop or scope around.
