I think it's more likely that viggos son was just a spoiled kid who never had anything to do with the business and walked into the luxury lifestyle without really knowing how they got there. This is why he says "we own you" to aurellio. He doesn't know how that world operates. He Just knows that he's wealthy and feels he can do what he wants.

Its likely that josef didn't get involved with viggo's business until after john retired since josef was young ...josef would have most likely heard john wicks name but didn't know what he looked like given he had never met him in person and probably just thought it was mostly exaggeration in which he was very very wrong

I can see that. That's the trope, he's an affluent child who is trying to "earn" his own.

You can see this in his bravado; he name drops his father in the Garage, and boasts killing John's Dog.

Aurelio specifically asked him if he killed John; because had he killed John Wick, Josef would be a legend, but he didn't because he's just playing gangster. Everyone's a gangster until Babayaga knocks on their door.

Probably, because his life was an illusion..misleading him with false images & give him false idea or belief: pretty much keeping him in the dark, but once he meet him or seen him in the gas ⛽️station everything came to light...slowly it all because so real ❤❤ it was an amazing movie 🎬
