Memory unlocked! It was a decade ago when we experienced this! Imagine the struggle of being a student nurse wearing our white uniform! No mercy was given, we were soaking wet as early as 6am! It is fun if your intention is to be part of that festival but it was a nightmare for us since we really had no idea that at that day the festival will be held! We had to walk since no jeepneys or means of transpo were available, most of the public transpo were detoured, we were crying on the roadside begging not to splash us with water. We were really traumatized that day 😵‍💫

My hometown is Cavite City, so my advice for first timers who want to enjoy the water festival or Regada, it's common that the people their put soaps on the people that joining the festival and ofcourse expect to be sprinkled by any type of water, like cold water, dip well water or water mix with color so its advisable to where black. I'm sorry if your shocked but to avoid being wiped by a someone with a soap you should spot them first or be alert or dont walk on the center of the street, but most people putting soap on face are targeting the pretty girls thats why they spotted you. Be careful also since their so many people some would take advantage on the crowd and may touch you inappropriately, just always be cautious. Anyways, thank you for the sportmanship and goodluck on you next contents ! ❤

I was taken aback at 3:01. I know it's part of the festival, but the guy could've atleast put the soap (and his hand) on your forehead/cheeks instead on your mouth, that's just rude for me. I mean, this is just my opinion.

Everyone’s telling Jessica good job for being a sport which I agree. But can we address how these dudes touching peoples’ faces is straight up bastos?

Hala! Di ko sya nakita nanjan din ako! haha Lagi din kasi ako nanjan SKL. Anyways, all firetrucks near in cavite city participates. However, they just bring their not so big trucks to still ready if emergency occurs. The sprinklers connected to the nearest water sources and firetrucks theyre just connecting the hose and up. Fact about putting soap on someones faces, if you are beautiful or handsome HAHAHA. Well, they just want to touch your face. Worst thing is they are using detergent soaps and irritates your face. Better bring wet towels to wipe it off. *sorry for my english here. HAHAHAHA

Hi! Have u heard about the Taong Putik Festival. It is here in Nueva Ecija. It celebrates also Saint John the Baptist. They also splashes water to everybody. The only difference is people from the community wears dried banana leaves with lots and lots of mud hence the name of the festival. Taong Putik literally translate to Mud People. The Mud People will ask the community for coins. The collected coins will eventually offered to the church where the final destination of the Mud People. This festival is to commemorate the history where the people of Nueva Ecija used mud and dried banana leaves to hide from the colonizers and to avoid from getting k!lled. The reason they offer the coins to the church is because when the people tried to hide from the colonizers, the church became their fortress and kept them getting k!lled. This festival happens also every month of June.

Jessica I don't know if I want to apologize for what that guy did to you, touching your face with soap, I hope you understand what's going on and where did they got this practice from, I don't know either because we don't do that in our Province, I think this ritual of water splashing or whatever is a ritual from the Spanish Era when that guy did the sign of the cross on your forehead, I would be overwhelmed shock too. Anyways it looks like you are having fun. And you really want to know and learn the culture, tradition, practices, rituals and everything Filipino...

Hello to you Ms. Jessica Lee. I know I'm a little late to say thank you for this, since it was held last June, which we call REGADA. I hope you enjoy our water festival and I just want you to know that thank you very much and that you included it in one of your videos (Vlog) which I know many people watch and enjoy. It is an honor as a Caviteñio to visit the birthplace. Thank you very much Ms. Jessica Lee. May you be featured in your Vlog more and more people follow you. Saranghae 🥰🫶🏻🫰

Regada Festival came from the Spaniards as its name Regada the meàning behind this in Spanish means to be Watered/Mabasa that's why it is called Regada Festival and don't forget that Cavite is hispanicanized province in the Philippines.
