More people switch to the Google Pixel from the iPhone than from a Samsung device. So the question is, what is that switch actually like and which one makes you life better?

My mission is bring a million people into the world of tech with insanely energizing and informative tech videos :)

Appreciate you all for all the support, always pushes me to do more and try harder🙏🏻❣️

Hi everyone ☺️ thank you so much for being here! Love our tech community so much and grateful for you!!

I wanted to apologize and note two errors I made here to make sure you have all the right info

At 1:52 the Pixel screen is more dim, but it’s probably caused by the fact that the phone had a lower battery life and put itself into power saving mode. I will retest this!

And 2. Pixel actually had crash detection FIRST! It just wasn’t popularized until the iPhone!

Thank you so much for being here. I research for hours for every single video but I messed this up so I wanted to say I’m so sorry and we’re going to add even more attention to detail for the next videos!

I believe that Google was the one that introduced Car Crash Detection in 2019 & Apple then added it in 2022 6:17

Ehm no. Google introduced crash detection for the Pixel 3. Back in 2019. Apple copied it into iPhone 14 in 2022.

1:45 The pixel was on battery saver mode wich dims the screen to save battery power. Switch it off and try it again, I think it's worth the comparison.

Take the pixel off battery saver mode. Its actually brighter. This is what happens when u dont actually truly switch and use the phone to understand it. This is crazy

The camera zoom being different one the iPhone than the Pixel is because you had it in your left hand with the shutter bottom at the opposite end. If you had both phones in the same orientation, the iPhone would also have the zoom "wheel" in the same direction as the Pixel. It doesn't change when you change the iPhones orientation in order to have zooming in always be forward. It is going to be 0.5X on the left and zoom in to the right and so if it's at the right side it's zoom in forward and out towards you, but the opposite of that if you have the shutter bottom to the left end in landscape orientation. I hope that I explained that well enough and it made sense. I think basically any phone is going to have good enough cameras for most people. The real differences will be noticed in the niche areas that each company prioritizes. Apple still kills it when it comes to video from what I've seen. The stabilization is better when panning and maintains color when changing between lenses. Google relies on so much post processing and cloud based stuff that if you consider what's on-device and how quickly you can use the images or video clips, I consider that a downside, whereas Apple doesn't require so much processing time or uploading and servers to make the quality better. I'm not always connected to wifi or in an area where data is going to be available for cloud based stuff.

6:12 Yeah you might want to check your numbers. Pixel has had car crash detection since the pixel 3 in 2019 Apple copied them for that just the same way that Apple copied night sight for taking pictures. Apple really didn't mainstream it. There are legal reasons as to why phone companies are just now able to put that on phones

Car Crash Detection was introduced by Google and copied by Apple, not the other way around!

Was looking forward to this video, literally liked it before even watching it. Nice from an iPhone user here, I gotta say Google really outdid themselves with the new design😮‍💨

I worked for Apple when the Nexus 1 was released and i switched to that from an iphone and never looked back. The iphone just got USB C for gods sake lol. Nexus and Pixel phones are light years ahead of iPhones when it comes to launching new features it isnt even close.

I rate you so much for talking in such a busy place in the beginning and hitting every word.

I think the cameras between the iPhone and the Pixel trade blows (personal preference). I always prefer a natural looking photo over enhancing colors. The iPhone to me, took the better portrait but the Pixel seemed to have the more likable picture for me of the boats on the water. One thing I think that is important to note when it comes to each ecosystem is, that if you don't like Pixel devices. There are a lot more choices on Android. If you don't like the iPhone look and feel of iOS, there's just no other options to try from Apple.

Great video, Jacklyn! I have been waiting for this one and it was well worth the wait! :D I hope you revisit the camera comparison once the fall colors start to arrive with the Pixel 9 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro.
