MARIAH CAREY'S MOM AND SISTER DEAD ON SAME DAY!

Mariah Carey is enduring immense heartbreak as her mother, Patricia, and her sister, Alison, both passed away on the same day over the weekend, TMZ has confirmed.

In a statement to TMZ, the singer expressed, "My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day."

Former healthcare worker and mortician here...this happens more than people think. We just don't hear about 2 family members passing unless we know them. Only 1 - 2% of the US population is famous.
Grieving 2 people simultaneously is a lot to deal with and I hope she has support.

My father, my favorite cousin, and my dog died on the same day. Lightning also hit my oak tree and it caused a power surge which caused a small fire in my range, and the wall behind it. It was my "annus horribilis" served up on the same day.

There have been some devastating plane crashes in y home country that have wiped out families. There was one where a mother lost her four kids. Another with a family of 8 who wer ein the country for a wedding. Whew. I cannot imagine such a thing.

Reminds me of when Carrie Fisher aka Princess Leia from Star Wars passed on and the very next day, so did her mother, Debbie Reynolds aka Singing in the Rain.
