Mariah Carey’s Mom & Sister Died On The Same Day

Mariah Carey is mourning the loss of her mother and sister, who died on the same day over the weekend. The Grammy winner announced the sad news on Monday, revealing in a statement to Access Hollywood that she was heartbroken following the death of her mother, Patricia and sister, Alison. "My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day," she shared. The 55-year-old didn’t give any further details surrounding the deaths in the statement, but did reveal she spent time with her mom before her passing. "I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time," Mariah added.
