How wide of a serpentine stitch is on that example? I dont think mine can go that wide. Curious what setting that would be?

You could think of ways to attach a trim so that it's removeable for laundering (such as Velcro or snaps). I'd be tempted to glue that wide rickrack on and never wash the project.
