Use pinking sheers instead of making all those little slits. This is a great idea! Love the scrappy hearts. How easy was that?❤️👍🏻 you always have such great color combos.

Finally! Someone who shows how to do "old time" applique using just fabric and pins. Thank you so much for this! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I really enjoy watching your channel. I do not always hit the like button. Because I am watching while sewing. My hands are full. But I wanted to let you know; I look for you every chance I get to catch up on my YouTube-ing. I feel like I am watching a good friend or family sharing her projects and process. Thank you so much for sharing your time with me in my sewing room.

Great video! Thank you! I can see sewing Spring fabrics strips instead of blocks & making an Easter Egg shape. Strips of green & make Christmas trees or Shamrocks. Tulips? Sunflowers? Flags? Pumpkins? The list in endless! You have inspired me....AGAIN! Thank you!

Just a tip, I use Elmer's Washable School Glue & baste the applique in place instead of using pins. Dab a little along the inside edge & iron into place. It dries immediately from the heat of the iron. No pins needed! Pins will sometimes distort an applique. I even glue down pockets before sewing them on. It all washes away. Thank you SEW much for your videos!

Thank you Cheryl for this video. It's helpful, not only for applique. But also quilt as you go using interfacing as a stabilizer.

lol, I live in a ground floor flat, and people often knock on my side window before ringing my bell, and everytime when Manny comes inscreen with the subscribe pillow with that window knock, I wait for my doorbell, or if I'm watching at 2 am, I'm half out of bed, thinking who the heck is that at this time!! You'd think I'd remember!

This is how I learned to appliqué a long long time ago. Still a great way to do it. Nice of you to show beginner sewers easier ways to do things. And it’s a nice reminder for all of us old folks who have been sewing for a long time. Tfs!

I’ve used the same technique with iron on interfacing. Once you sew the interfacing on (glue side in) and snip the fabric and turn it around the glue side is now on the outside in the back. It makes it easy to iron on the appliqué securely to stitch around.
