Also, at one point in Detroit, Connor goes to visit the original creator of the androids, Kamski, for information. He offers Connor a choice: shoot another android "dead" or leave without the info he wanted.

If Connor shoots the android, Kamski calls the test "negative" and seems deflated. If Connor doesn't shoot, Kamski calls it "fascinating". It seems (at least to me) that Kamski wanted to androids to become deviants. He also tells Connor that he "always builds a backdoor into his programs" which helps Connor defy CyberLife.

I think Falcon has changed up his recording setup. The audio has some reverb that isn’t usually there. If I am right, I hope it’s because Falcon got a new, better place. You folks at Gameranx have earned i.m.o., not just Falcon but everyone on staff.

The 5 stages of grief in Majora's Mask is easily explained by the fact that the world is ending in the story, and everyone is going through the stages for their own upcoming deaths. Doesn't need to be that Link is dead.

The androids becoming free because of a virus sounds more plausible when you think back to when Connor or Markus sets androids free by hand contact like a skin born virus and evolves into an air born virus during the protest. The character page models in the bonus menu actually give a lot of cool information. Kara gives herself her name after whispering it to Alice.

The thing that gets me about Detroit: Become Human is, if the Androids behavior is indistinguishable from human behavior on a surface level, does it even matter if it's just programming? We humans like to think that we have free will, but much of what we do is based on our own biological programming. Decision making can be boiled down to chemical reactions in the brain, so what's the difference between a human, carbon based brain and a synthetic, silicon based one?

This was a fun one as usual! The Skate one tripped me out because my best bud passed away, and I booted up Skate 3 for the first time in years and his character (I guess your character just shows up if they were played online at some point?) just skated right by me as soon as I entered the open world "limbo" lol. Will be bummed when that game goes down. Love getting to skate with him again.

The Borderlands Theory.... There was an episode of StarTrek Voyager that played like this. Two factions at endless war. A device on the planet kept bringing them back to life via nanomachines in their blood. If anyone died, the machines just repaired them and brought them back. Unfortunately, they never forgot their past deaths or the pain of being killed in so many horrific ways.

Detroit Become Human is such an underrated title. Great Game.

The Animal Crossing one is simply a case of the fact that we can't have lighthearted childrens games without "fans" needing to make it dark and broody.

When I first heard about the 'Mary is in the car' theory for SH2, I rolled my eyes, thinking that's silly. Now that I've matured and watched too many true crime videos, 'Mary is in the car' theory began to make sense to me, James having an extreme psychological break and is repressing not only him killing Mary but also putting her corpse in the car.
If I'm not mistaken, some of the SH2 devs say that the 'In Water' ending for SH2 is the canon ending, and if that's the case then James and Mary are reunited and share the same grave now.

Regarding the Majora’s Mask theory, that mysterious skeleton warrior named “The Hero’s Shade/Spirit” in The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess has been confirmed to be the very same Link. That means Link definitely turned into a skeleton without that fairy.

I always felt the Majora's Mask Grief Theory was backwards, that Link is going through the five stages, but not because he's dying, but because he has to come to terms that Navi died by leaving the Kokiri Forest, and the protection of the Deku Tree's magics (which also protects Link in the Lost Woods even without a fairy)

I think the next video should cover SOMA. Specifically the theory that the main “enemy” in the game, the WAU, is actually the best hope for recreating humanity- not the Ark. love this theory, and it makes perfect sense. For a great read about this, check Kotaku’s article “In Defense of SOMA's Horrifying Villain”

The developers of Skate 3 made the map as a memorial for their friend who died (you can find his name on the plaque in the war memorial area) so it's very possible they did mean it to feel like a skater "heaven" of sorts. That and the fact they didn't have as long to make that game compared to the first 2 (under a year IIRC which is NO TIME to make a whole video game), so that is probably why it feels so weird and "dead"- it's rushed and unfinished. I always did think you were meant to be dead in that game haha even before I knew all this. I still love it tho.

As someone who looks back on the Mass Effect trilogy with tons of love, I am 100% subscribed to the Indoctrination Theory, even if its not true. Having the speculation and potential for that to be the case just adds a layer to an already amazing story and really makes you think about the events long after you've gone through the games. By far one of the more compelling speculations.

I kind of felt like the emphasis on grief and time in Majora's Mask was tying into the idea of Link's lost innocence in a way. He was pushed into adulthood without the chance to truly grow up, then dumped back into his child body again, now with memories of events that will never happen. He's gone through something that no one else can really understand or relate to, and there are people he met and befriended that now don't know him.

There's no way that wouldn't mess with you, this kid has got to have some serious trauma and feel alienated from those around him.

Meanwhile, the core concept of MM is that the things you've done keep getting erased, and you keep having to start over to fight against a looming threat and the people you run into often seem to not understand or take it seriously. You're the only one who remembers what happened last time. Link is once again put in the position of being the sole survivor of things that "never happened" . I think it's his inner turmoil manifested into a sort of dream world, where he's fighting his own inner demons.

For that Majora's Mask theory, I'm pretty sure the idea that people who enter the forest without a fairy turn into Stalfos only applies to adults. Link in Majora's Mask is not an adult, so he should be immune.

Imma say Twilight Princess confirms that Link wasn't dead since Stalfos Link (who is also OOT And MM Link) was said to have had a wife and kids. He couldn't have died as a kid if he grew up and had a wife and kids.

Not sure how well known it is, but there is a theory that Nate’s escapades in Uncharted caused the cordyceps pandemic in The Last of Us. I’ve heard that either the mummy from the El Dorado statue or the djinn from Uncharted 3 was released. Uncharted 3 does have that newspaper that mentions the cordyceps infection.
