I am enjoying your lectures so much, thank you for providing them publicly. I have 2 questions:
1. in the proof regarding the union of subspaces not being necessarily a subspace, I wondered what would be wrong about using a simpler version of your argument. Namely consider the vector (s1 + u). As you detailed (s1+u) can't lie in S1. But can't you also say (s1+u) can't lie in any of S2 to Sn, because if it did then s1=(s1+u)-u \in some Sk, which contradicts our assumption about s1
2. when and how can I purchase your 3 volume set
