Dear friends, I made this bench (my second carpentry project) when I was 13 years old with the help and guidance of a master carpenter with a few tools. At that time, I enjoyed making this bench. Let's relive childhood memories together.

As a fifth generation woodworker, this video makes me very happy and satisfied that the craft is continuing in the younger generations. Thank you for your video.

Superb, professional presentation.
No silly background music;

Seeing you recover such a damaged bench with so much love is beautiful!! It makes me hope to one day be loved in the same way.

This is just right for me. Excellent work on the bench and the video. No yakking "personality" head, no cats, no dogs, no goopy synth music.
Great continuity (clothes, lighting etc.) and thorough work in a spotless setting. ...and you appeared to stay clean. This sets a high standard. Excelsior!

I am impressed with the workmanship of that 13 yo boy who made it to begin with.

First plus - no music. Second plus, your absolutely wonderful approach to this refurbishment. You evidently have the capacity to envision how things will look when finished, and it shows perfectly in this piece. What a great little bench. Beautiful work.

I think your 13-year old self would be happy seeing the beautiful restoration of this bench.

When you asked at the beginning of the video what we viewers would do with this bench in that dilapidated condition, the first thing that entered my mind was “firewood.” But, you miraculously brought that piece back and made it better than it ever was. Now THAT is a labor of love…and talent! Nice work! You taught me something!

That's not a restoration; it's a resurrection. You brought that bench back from the dead.

As the builder, this shows how talented you were at 13 and how much you have grown in you craft. You were also able to make the decision as to what modifications to make to improve the build. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and look forward to more.

I can wait for the next 13 years to see the sequel of this restoration. ❤

I did this to some furniture decades ago and they still hold up. I always look at the pieces when I go by. It's a labor of love really. Great job.

I really admire people who restore rather than throw out and build/buy new things. It takes real talent to bring back to life old work, and wood is specially nice because no matter how rotten it is, there's always a way. Love your work, I'd do the same and restore it!

i love how you approach your work... almost as a conservator... even if the piece isn't an antique... it is also heartwarming to hear you tell us that you were 13 years young when you built it... well done for being focused and intentional enough to do it at 13... that sets a great example to other 13 year olds... much love xxc

Occasionally, I’ve tried fixing old stuff by smashing glue into the cracks and clamping it back together with mixed results. I was mere minutes in when you started filling the cracks with reclaimed wood. It’s not the first time someone on YouTube has demonstrated to me the line between ability and talent, but I’m humbled every time. I do suspect the resurrection took more time than the original build. Well done.

As a 13 year old when you built that, you did a great job!
