KettleHouse co-owner Tim O'Leary tells the story of Cold Smoke scotch ale, Montana's favorite beer. KettleHouse Brewing Co. has been brewing craft beer out of Missoula since 1995, and Cold Smoke has become an icon for locals during that time. Whether powder skiing at resorts like Big Sky and Bridger Bowl, or fly fishing in one of Montana’s many rivers, Cold Smoke is the perfect beer to relax with after enjoying the great outdoors.

I cannot tell you how much I love this Beer. This is nothing like it on a Hot day to drink a correctly chilled Cold Smoke from Kettletown Brewery. When I fly out to Montana to shot Photography, the first thing i do it pick up a a few packs - Hands Down the Best beer I have ever tested. Sadly, I have to ration what I have because I leave in Ct and can not get it here - LOVE THIS BEER!!!

As a florida boy that moved to montana and bartender in Bozeman for 8 years, my joke is "If you dont serve cold smoke, you're not gonna stay in business long."

I also remember summer of 14 and 15 we always ran out of cold smoke. It really is a beer synonymous with Montana.

Just about every restaurant in Bozeman has heard "do you guys serve Cold Smoke Scotch Ale" from me. And then either my disappointed face or gleeful rubbing hands together. Even my wife loves this beer - and she hates beer. Keep up the great work y'all.

Was my first MT craft beer... Which lead me down a rabbit hole of blissful discovery. So many great memories in the backcountry with a tall Cold Smoke.
