I like South African chicken, but that might be because I'm South African lol. Tbh though there is nothing uniquely South African about that dish. As for a name, maybe Sunday chicken, as a nod to the South African 'seven colours' Sunday meal.

An old lady at our church gave me and my husband one of the old olive crockpots with a glass lid (I'm sure it was used) as a wedding gift 14 years ago. It is still in excellent shape!

I'm a OTR truck driver and I am away from home 9 months out of the year, so cooking smart is very important to me. My $19 Crock Pot from Walmart is my best friend because I use it all the time and it hasn't let me down in the 4 years since I bought it, it makes cooking in the truck super easy and it always turns out great. I love your channel and use many of your recipes

So I made the tortellini soup for supper tonight. Super easy. I had to substitute the heavy whipping cream for half and half because that’s what I had. To church it up I also added Italian seasoning and 2 bay leaves during the cooking process along with about a cup of shredded parm at the end.
Direct quote from my 10 year old picky eater: “This taste like a rich person’s soup. Like it should be in a fancy restaurant that you pay $20 or something.” 🤣☠️ My 18 month old also ate a large portion. Great recipe and apparently I’m going to have to make it for my son’s next birthday dinner… which is 8 months away. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😂

I still have the crockpot my mom got as a wedding present...in the early 1960’s

I’d call it Fiesta Chicken because it looks like it would be a party for your tastebuds.

I love that you give options of sides. Sometimes when I cook I just don't know what to pair it with, so that is so helpful. Thank you

Love crock pots! My daughter picked up one when she got married, at the local resale store. An orange one from the 70s that is the mate to my sister's crock pot. The one we used recently to make the velveeta dip on for the Buffalo Bills game. Still works!

Southwest or Fiesta Chicken. I think I would use the full 28 oz of tomatoes, all the tomato paste, more of all the spices & 3 cans worth of beans instead of 1. Would make it more filling, stretch it to more servings & lower the price per serving.

South African chicken is because the COLOR OF THE INGREDIENTS ARE THE COLORS OF THE AFRICAN FLAG!!🇿🇦

Also, I am loving the "If I stay here for a bit does it get awkward?" and absolutely love the fact that you told us what you did wrong with a dish! Thank you for being real and for your fabulous content!!!!

I'm honestly just really excited about the amount of fellow South Africans there are on Christine's channel! ♥

I think “Southwest Chicken” or “Fiesta Chicken” would work.

I concur with throw and go instead of dump and go. Also I have a instant pot and will never get rid of my crockpot!

Based on the ingredients, seasonings and serving method, I think the simplest name change is just Southwest Chicken.
I know that's a fairly common name but it just seems accurate & discriptive.

i made the' fiesta chicken" this evening . Used the masher - the one you use when browning ground beef. It worked great for shredding the chicken ! Yummy meal !

For the Crockpot Shredded Chicken, my sister and I have made that for years sans the cheese. We have always called it Fiesta Chicken. We make it in the oven, crockpot, or instant pot.

My crockpot came from Goodwill several years ago and works perfectly. It doesn't have any bells and whistles either and I love it just the way it is. I like foods slow cooked like that because it gives food time to develop their full flavors. Yum!

Last time I made the roast my fiancé used the leftovers to make omelets, AMAZING. He also used them to make wraps... also amazing
