Never borrow money in any form. Live within your means 🤔

Rewards are when you help someone that's in need. You can give someone your Time by showing up at their house to help the elderly clean, garden or just for a cup of coffee. This doesn't cost money. Some people can't fathom why I help the elderly. I know what it's like to be on a budget. At least I can thrive on a budget and giving my time to help. The elderly don't have much and can't get around like they used to.

Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man. Here in Terre Haute the Paitson family owned the franchise here. For 40 plus years they were the best. You came in with a problem? Their staff had years of knowledge in plumbing, electrical, heating, air, or carpentry, but large corporates moved in and put them out of business. I miss them.

Man I can’t comprehend how people right now are living up to their eyeballs in debt. I don’t have any debt I’ve got pretty decent reserves and I’m worried as hell about what’s going on.

I worked in IT for over 20 years for Dell and HP. There is absolutely no reason why tech people need to be in the office unless you need a couple of techs to swap out hardware. Everything else can be done remotely.

Having one's house paid off really helps in deciding whether to drop home insurance if it gets too high. I have two properties, one a rental and one I live in, both paid off. I can't drop the insurance on the rental for obvious reasons, but my own home I can. I got notified by Citizen's that my home insurance was going up, but they couldn't tell me by how much. I've decided that if I drop the insurance on my home, and if the house blows away or burns down, I still have the property it sits on, and that is worth quite a bit. Since I have no one that needs my house when I die (other than a charity), if I lose my house and sell the lot, I am still fine.

And consumer confidence report showed a rise in confidence. What a joke. I’d like to know who they surveyed.

as for high florida insurance rates it reflects the extreme risks of that place- constant devastating hurricanes and sea level rise.

These interest rates with the massive debt we have will finish the country. Just added 849 billion $ to the debt for INTEREST! Higher rates will accelerate the demise.

I'm a photographer and have tens of thousands of photos in my computer. I also have a backup service which runs in the background and backs up my data automatically off site. One day turned on the computer and everything was gone. It took the backup service three days to reload my files, which was over a terabyte, but I lost nothing. Dan is right you better a backup plan.

Working in IT I can confirm we are, for the most part, a bunch of introverts who would rather never see the inside of the office.

The Libby’s in my town are so loaded they fill up the restaurants day and night here. They pay $18 for an omelette and $12 for a Bloody Mary. They all have E bikes. One guy posted on our neighborhood site that he would pay someone $30 to hand out his Halloween candy.

As an IT professional myself for a little under 20 years, we have always had the ability even in the mid-2000s to work from home even via dial-up, service are on call 24/7 if we have an emergency so it's nonsense we've always been working home and the office
