Just heard that Al had a heart attack in Romania while on stage. I pray for a speedy and complete recovery. I played the hell out of this album back in 77. It’s great to go back to it every now and then.

I was 16 when I first heard this. My entire life was different because I was privileged enough to hear this when it was new. I will never forget Al Di Meola's gift to me.

At the dawn of disco, Al DiMeola was an oasis in the desert. I wore this album out - twice.

Even in 2023 nothing comparable exists! The song, but also the whole album. Same league as Cobham's "Stratus". Or Beck's "Blow by Blow" and "Wired" albums. Simply iconic!

Di Meola on guitar, Anthony Jackson on bass and Lenny White on drums. The original super group.

I had no idea anybody played guitar this fast in 1977. Way ahead of his time.

I sat 3 feet away from this man watching him and the rest of Return to Forever play Romantic Warrior, still reading their charts, at a tiny little bar called Ebetts Field (sp?) in Denver CO when I was in high school. Unfrick'nbelievable. Never seen anything like it. He was about 18-19 years old folks. The whole band proceeded to blow us all out into the street, never again to return to normal lives.

This is the album that opened so many doors musically for me and gave my right hand cramps trying to play as fast and clean as Al did & does. Al Di Meola is such an inspirational guitar player, in my top 5 guitarists of all time. His band was EPIC. I think these guys were his staple group for his first 5 albums. Incredible. Incredible.

I heard this album in 1978 (while in HS.) and became a huge fan. Ive seen him in concert twice. Once with Mclaughlin and deLucia and once at a club in So. Cal that sat maybe 150 people. Both were amazing experiences. I hope his recovery is complete and that he gets well soon.

My dad's cousin turned me onto this album years ago. This was the first song he played for me. It still blows me away after all these years.

I took my brother to Jaxx nightclub on Old Keene Mill Road actually he drove, we got there early, and literally sitting 10 feet away from Al D and some drunken joker, for fun yells 'Stairway' and Al said I cant believe you just said that! So after the show ended, The owner of Jaxx came out on stage, and said everybody here has free tickets to Pat Travers tomorrow night- But my Brother wanted to go but had a previous commitment and I had no ruuning car- So I lost out because Pat Travers is great as well- So, this was early 90's but I saw Al. Paco, and John at Constitution Hall in 1982- And almost enrolled at The Guitar Conservatory in San Antonio, TX- I lived MD- 48 hours on buses at 21 years old- But I am so grateful to God that He blessed me with this wonderful life

Got the album as a kid, and a big fan of Stones, Van Halen...hadn't heard of anything like this. Changed my perspective forever.
