The deal between Brainiac and Tribb, if you look deep into that, Tribb was so old and so smart that when she searched the Universe for something to stop General Chacal and his forces she deduced that Brainiac was the only one who could do something about them. Brainiac was the only one able to "kill the unkillable, " so to say. It just goes to show how formidable and dangerous Brainiac was, even before Brainiac got his immortality.

Brainiac, in my opinion, should never be defeated. With how smart that he is and all of the resources that the takes and the many experiences that he has had with the heroes and everyone else and everything like that it is hard to believe that he would lose. Brainiac being super intelligent and a scientist, it would stand to reason that he would test out his plans several times before he initiates them, and along with his past experiences, I don't think that he should be beaten.
Now I know some people will say that that could apply to fifty percent of all supervillains, but why I mainly say these things about Brainiac is because Brainiac is an engine of logic. He is not swayed by emotion. Like when you have Dr. Doom or Riddler is coming out on top, and he is winning, but his ego and his pride and his arrogance and stuff get in the way of him thinking clearly, so they mess up. It is not that way with Brainiac because he is just based on logic.
