NBC News' Ellison Barber spoke to Felipe Carrillo about how he tried to save his and his neighbors' homes in Altadena from the wildfires with just his garden hose. "I did as much as I could," he said as he recalled trying to save as many homes as possible while the sky was red around him.

My heart aches for this poor guy. Imagine the joy of being able to save your home and some of the neighbors' homes mixed with guilt in wishing you could of done more for the other neighbors. 😢 Bless him for all that he was able to do and caring enough to think of others in such a horrific situation. That's a good man right there.

A good neighbor is priceless. They had decades of caring for each other.

I am blessed to have a block of good neighbors in Richmond Hill, Queens. We are a culturally diverse block. During Covid, we bonded by doing the 7 pm clapping for first responders on our stoops, then waving a hello to each other.
