My Tumbler came in the mail today. It works great! For the first time in ages I have a kitchen-full of sharp knives and an empty drawer where all my old "sharpeners" used to live.
5 stars for the Tumbler.

I’m furious that this is so simple, yet obviously effective.

I just got mine too! I also ordered the stropping pad. It really works so well--I spent the morning sharpening all my knives including a really large Serbian cleaver. I cut a whole chicken in half without any effort. Nicely packaged, really exceptional quality.

So a knife that has a full flat grind, just as an example because I believe this transfers to all knives, the angle won't be 15°/20° it will be less universally and vary between every knife depending on the width of the spine of the knife. The angle will be consistent to each particular knife but not consistent on a knife to knife basis unless the spine width of each knife is the same. The same applies to a knife without a full flat grind because the angle of the grind on the "sides" of knives vary between each knife even if it's a sabre grind type blade. Some sabre grind type blades are flat before the grind starts and then as long as the angle block part of the sharpener is flush with the flat part of the blade it could be as true to the angle as the block is. Most knives aren't like that though and a high end type kitchen knife usually has a full flat grind and therefore will not have the designated 15° or 20° edge once it has been sharpened. It will be slightly steeper.

Just arrived after a very lengthy wait (originally Apr 17, today is May 4) after ordering on March 16th. It arrived via Canada Post, needed to pay $30 in import duties & taxes. It is easy to use, probably takes more than a few tries if the knife is dull. Tumbler did promise me "a complimentary German made knife as a thank you for your patience" but that did not come in the package as it arrived today. So not sure about their promises or guarantees just yet. Wouldn't mind the free knife so long as there aren't more duties and taxes upon receipt.

Out of curiosity, I got one recently. How much pressure should one be applying towards the blade with the sharpener. I haven't been getting the best results (not bad), and I'm curious as to how much pressure is being applied to the blade.

I cannot find any reviews on these anywhere

Stropping is an important part of the process but not enough is being shown about how to use it. Sometimes, it is ignored completely. I would appreciate an entire video dedicated to stropping, how it is done, and what is intended to be accomplished. Thanks.

I like mine. Yes there are other brands but mine works. Just make sure it’s kept at room temperature or else it will warp and won’t roll properly.

Can you make another video explaining the science behind the two different sides. Like I get the idea of creating the burr but I thought the burr was removed when you started shaving the other side. Is it the honing that removed the burr you create?

My Tumbler stiffened up and barely turns. I have to squeeze it to the counter with all my might. Can it be lubricated or loosened?

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but how can the holder possibly hold a knife in place while you grind its edge? I understand that it's a magnet, but I'm familiar with magnets and can't picture one being strong enough to secure a knife while you're sharpening it. Or.. does it take five minutes because you need to rub it softly? Is that the idea-- don't put much force on it so the magnet sticks?

I wish the magnet was stronger. I also find with mine that it seems to be really really stiff to roll… also the O Rings will leave marks on most counter tops that are a pain to clean. Maybe that’s just because mine is so stiff to roll you need so much downward pressure to stop it just sliding on the counter.

Looks like the center piece rolls separate from the ends. Just learned that that’s how it is supposed to work, was wondering why it didn’t work very well. I have had mine for a few months now and to get the ends to roll separate from the middle takes a lot of force and makes it hard to sharpen. Anything that can be done to fix this like adding oil somewhere?
