It is mindblowing how well a combination of low contact and being the background noise worked for me in the past weeks 😳

Big greetings to Professor Vaknin. Thanks for all the lectures, they are more than useful and sobering. Everything is crystal clear to me about my relationship I had with a narcissistic person. However, I have one question and the answer to that question is missing in order to put the whole puzzle together. My narcissist, at least I think so, tried to open up to me and tell the truth about himself. He did this through the conversations we had about our relationship and said the following: "You see, I have certain fears... "I haven't found myself where I belong... "I am dissatisfied because I have not fulfilled myself in a professional sense" "I am incapable of empathy..." Yes, this has all been said. However, I was left with a doubt as to whether this was also an attempt through manipulation to preserve the relationship by acknowledging what had become obvious, or was it somehow sincere? thanks for the reply.

My narc loved when I initiated or asked him questions b/c he could give me an answer b/c he knows everything. So he would look good and sound so smart . I would go to him as my hero. Savior Superman .. he would take care of anyone that disrespected me in a heartbeat. He would appear strong, he would show off & impress me by handling my affairs or my unjust. To this day, I call him GOAT. Who wouldn’t love to hear they are the greatest of all time, but a Narcissist

2:13:11 It's so hard for me to mimic their abusive and aggressive behavior and go that to their level because, I'm the total opposite of a narcissist, I'm highly empathetic and I dont know how i can yell back or be as toxic as they are. I can only see myself feeding doing so out of the resentment that has built up, how does this mimicry of their toxicity compares to the gray stone method

Hi Professor, I have a question I haven’t seen addressed. What if you have a best friend, sibling or significant other who is sucked in by the narcissist. But you don’t deal with the narcissist at all. How do you talk to the person you do care about but they are blind?
