Out of the numerous YouTube videos describing how to wire this meter this is by far the best instructions. Thank you.

Yay! 😁 Yes please show what to do with the shunt, not that I need it, but one day perhaps. I think I'm going to put some coloured heat string around the thick red cable to remind me that this isn't going directly to positive, but is a continuation of the negative wire to the device. I'm using mine with a TTL breadboard computer and it shows my 5.00V and 0.092A - perfect.

Very well explained. All details covered. Thank you very much.

Thanks Scotty, mine had no diagram so this was just what I needed.

wish there was a way to search through comments as i'm sure someones asked already. I dont have the visible shunt on the board but the ad said the shunt was inbuilt, its model DSN-VC288. following the diagrams above, all i see is the voltage. weirdly, if i just plug the battery direct to the meter black and red it shows something in the Amps counter.. any idea what gives?

Hey mate. Did you say you had a video on how to set up one with a shunt. Be keen to see it. Just can’t find it.

Hi Scotty, Great video. I am building a bench power supply and I am trying to find out how to connect this meter to a 50 amp shunt and a DC-DC 300W 20A Constant Current Adjustable Step Down Module Buck Converter. Can you help?

Since electronics nowdays are much cheaper/easier to buy ready made, rather than building it yourself, making films on simply wiring electronic products, is very useful indeed.
Wiring Timing modules with/without microcontroller, wiring remote controls modules, wiring gain amplifiers, turning a N.O shut down into a pulse...

Instead of having to back the video up to show the max Amp... is there a way to put a second display on this to store and show the max Amp?

Question, I am using a single power source for my meter but I want to be able to turn off the meter while leaving the line power on. Do I interrupt the yellow wire for a switch?

I got one of these from a friend with 20A capacity. There is no shunt, just the empty terminals where your shunt is. Do I need an external shunt for this?

Hi, say I decided to set up as described on wiring diagram #1. Have a reliable power supply (herein SUP1, up to 30V, 10A). Powering the meter from a switching module (herein SW5, 5V) plugged into the same supply (SUP1). Ultimately, SUP1 powers LOAD and SW5. May be ignorable but; theoretically, would the meter measure ampere of load properly or a bit less as all are on the same power source? Thanks, .

I have a question for you. I just bought a digital Ammeter for my boat (12V) showing V and A. For the measuring range, on the package it says 0 - 100A, but on the wiring diagram it says 0 - 10A…(?).
It also says that red wire should be connected from battery (+) to ammeter (+) and from ammeter (+) to a DC loads (+)
Then from battery (-) to ammeter (-) and a green wire from ammeter (third connection) to DC loads (-).
I would like to measure the total consumption going out of the battery in A and voltage when engine is not running.
- is this possible?
- if I connect battery (+) to ammeter (+) and battery (-) to ammeter (-), then the green wire from ammeter to battery (-). Would this work?
Thanks a lot for your answer!

Thank you for this video! You have the best diagram I’ve seen of this meter yet (and I have been searching for hours)! 😅 The model I have looks just like yours but it does not have the built-in copper shunt. Not sure what to do about that (?) but I got the meter to at least read volts and current with this video (not sure if it is accurate without shunt tho). 😂

How would I set it up in my boat to see how much my electrical amps are being used?

how do you make a mount for these to screw them to a board?

Can it be hooked up between battery and charge controller?

I am trying to understand how I can simply measure the output voltage of a circuit. On the input of the circuit board I would have example 12 volts DC 2-amps. How can I measure the output of that circuit to get a volt and current read. I am using LM2596 DC-DC buck convertor I want to measure only the output. The LM2596 DC-DC buck convertor has a variable pot that I can adjust for desired output voltage I want to measure

bit confused how do I add this to an existing PSU?
I take it both reds and yellow to supply + output and both blacks to supply - output.
