Well Scotty. That small trick of tapping for being sure that the sensor is the problem, only an experienced honest mechanic knows it, and also Shows it. Thank You for the tip, and video.

When he taps it with the hammer, it's the reason I love old school mechanics

Excellent tutorial!

Many people would be scared to do this themselves, but it would cost at least 100 or more in a shop, can save a lot of money on simple repairs like this!

just depends on how far you want to go. This one is fine for generic work, you need a dealer level one for more intense analysis, and they start at 2 grand for EACH model.

Scotty you are the best. Thanks for being funny and making me feel comfortable in keeping care of my car and my daughter's. Amazing how many people will take advantage of a single woman with car problems.

tons of things can do that. As a mechanic, I get my dealer level scan tool, hook it up to the car, and drive until it acts up. Then it memorizes the bad data, and I play it back and analyze what went wrong. That's the only way to do it, other than wild guessing.

That electrical grease is becoming very important. Cleaned some throttle body sensors on my 04 jeep. Went to test drive. Idle was wacky. Wasnt b4. Tranny would shift 1st to 3rd or het stuck in 2nd. Knowing there was nothing wrong 30 minites prior. Back in the garage with the engine running, pushed on connectors, idle would straighten out. Gooped up the connectors . ran great. Still runs great. If i hadnt just caused my own issues by "fixing" it, I'd swear the throttle position sensor had crapped out. But no, just a lousy connection.
Love your show. Dont know where your getting all your energy ? Coffee ? Red bull ? Cocaine ? None of my concern. Keep up the great vids. You should be on diy network. Subbed
