This battery thing is so dumb. Look what California did and just electrify the entire corridor. And honestly they should be running electric trains on the Providence line as well because it's already electrified.

These are the same fools that recently junked the electric trackless trolleys and replaced them with diesel buses. Wait until they find out that battery technology has a long way to go, especially in extreme weather conditions. These are the same fools who run diesel locomotives under live electric catenary wires all the way from Boston to Providence, R. I.

IF the MBTA was doing traditional, and highly proven, overhead wire trains, this would be good news. Instead, they are attempting to use unproven battery technology in heavy rail vehicles. This will just turn out to be another waste of money, but the MBTA is great at wasting money on silly projects.

Joke, I’ve talked to ton of conductors and engineers and they say it will take at least 5-10 more years. I like the idea. But they are cheap. (Keolis).

Funny, but little of the electricity in MA is "green"- so electric trains aren't green either. That fact, not mentioned in this video.
